If you are looking for land on Smith Lake please contact Alabama Power before you buy. There are some new restrictions, from the flood line at 522 down to 510 you may not be able to clear brush or trees because of Habitat for Turtles and wildlife also, any lot that is under 100 feet you can't get a permit for a dock! Your dock can't go out but a 1/3 of the distance with the dock can be a real problem! Please check the rules before you buy! with the Power company, not the realtor!

We have Volunteer Fire most of the lake is remote. I live 5 miles from Dodge City on lake .

Another consideration: alcohol. It’s only sold in restaurants on the lake, not in the grocery stores. Some will call that a pro and some will call it a con. 🙃

Great point. It isn’t available to purchase in the surrounding counties, but is available to purchase in the cities (Cullman and Jasper). Also, it is worth mentioning that while available in the restaurants on the lake, it isn’t allowed on the lake. The lake is considered dry and alcohol isn’t allowed on the water or in boats. Thanks for bringing this point up.

Very Dangerous I live on the lake I will not go out on the lake in my boat on any Holiday !
