Thank you for this video, very informative! I found that alot of online teaching companies who mostly cater to kids expect teachers to be theatrical and very energetic, I noticed this with companies like Magic Ears. Whereas when you teaching adults you don't have to be overtop or use props. Teaching kids can be very draining,so it's something to consider the age group of the students you teach.

Not at the company you are hired with, no. It's your responsibility as a teacher to pay your tax independently.

Hi Gizelle. Check out the 3 videos on my channel listing companies you can apply to (including rates and minimum weekly hrs required). I have 2 videos listing companies that don't require a degree, and 1 video listing companies that require a degree. I suggest you apply to them all. The market is saturated... You will be very lucky if you get positive feedback from even half of them. All the best🎈

These online companies DO NOT pay your taxes. You have to sort it out in your personal capacity

Ugh I wish these online companies can be more open to accept Namibians. I have my TEFL and a bachelors degree and also online teaching experience with Italki but they still refuse to accept my application because of my nationality. I feel like they are way too discriminating to be getting so much publicity! But that is just my two cents though

Hi @eMMerencyia K! 😊 Yes, I agree. They shouldn't generalize, because there are some great teachers out there who are just overlooked because of their nationality. Besides the parents wanting their kids to have a specific English accent, I'm sure it's also a way for these companies to scale down for their screening process. It's not so much publicity, rather trying to help out those who can be considered. Times are tough. People are happy to accept contracts from any company, no matter how discriminating they may come across 🤷‍♀️ The publicity helps some of our people put food on their table

huh, i have 2 online tutors in Ketmenskoop, however its spelled. they are online part time adult and kid classes. i chose them since i found my ancestry. heck i tutor online also, lol
