Been a tech for a year now and can say all the cons are subjective! Location is very important and if you have the means, don’t settle working somewhere you’ll be miserable if you have the opportunity to explore elsewhere because there’s plenty of work to go around rn. With that being set I recommend this career to anyone who CAN manage stressful situations well and can solve problems on their own. You never know what you’re gonna get in this field and that’s what makes it exciting 😁
@juanmotiva8s959

Don’t compare 1 year of experience when your still leaning to 12 years of experience in different medical settings including doing CT. You are correct cons can be subjective but once your a tech for over 5 years or more you’ll understand it better. Your barely getting your feet wet. At the moment yes there so many options on work that’s why Travel Tech is so big right now but eventually that will start to settle because hospitals are starting to pay more hourly. When I first started I was at $21 he now I’m upper $30’s so it’s definitely changing. Thanks for watching and for the comment wish you the best in this career 🙏🏽

“Radiological Technologist” is an umbrella term, but there’s so many jobs (in hospitals alone) that you can eventually branch off to outside of CT or X-Ray. You’re also not limited to just hospital jobs and I think that’s one of the best parts about Radiology. You can work at veterinary clinics, police departments, dental offices, clinics etc. Hell you can probably score a gig with a sports team on a medical staff if you’re lucky enough. I think this is the one career that gives you exactly what you put into it.

Hi, I'm currently in the process of applying for a rad tech program. I'm so glad that I found your channel. I was watch ing X-ray Rey but I haven't seen a lot of material so I've been looking for someone to learn from since. I have over 8 years of experience in veterinary medicine and I hope that my prior knowledge will help me get through school and to excel in my career. The things you have described is definitely something that I am currently experiencing. Using critical thinking and figuring out things as I go is something that I'm already used to. It seems like human medicine is pretty similar except it's more stressful since I will have to take on more patients. The main difference is that I will only have to focus on one job instead of multiple department tasks all at once. I really appreciate your videos!

Man those cons are super accurate, even for other fields as well. I think it all stems from both staffing issues because people don’t want to work, but businesses will only hire the bare minimum amount of employees, which makes employees leave because the work load is too much lol. It’s a catch 22!

These pros and cons were really good ones to use. I knew its something with capacity to be stressful, but I am a bit on the introverted side and like the idea of dealing with people in bite sized amounts. Do admin work at a radiology clinic but having trouble keeping my head above water gonna shadow a tech in a couple weeks and see if its something i wanna pursue.

But first I plan to study first EKG/Phlebotomy for 6months here at a program in New Jersey so I start working in the health field. What do you see worth studying after I do EKG/Phlebotomy? When I start either Radiology or Sonography, I will leave my full time job, and possibly work per diem, part time, or possible not work at all to focus in the study...

Hello 👋 Welcome 🙏🏽 Thanks for watching Please remember to Subscribe, Watch & Like 👍🏽 my Videos it helps the channel reach more people 🙏🏽 Ok so this is what I would do… I would go for Radiology Technologist for 2 years. This sets your foundation for your X-ray career. After that you can go back to school for only 1 year & get your Sonography license. Also, you can do CT or MRI in 3 months after you complete your 2 year radiology & pass the ARRT. If you choose Sonography first for 2 years & then say naw I don’t like it. You will then have to go back to school for another 2 years for Radiology Technologist…. So going for Radiology Technologist from the start is best because again it sets up your foundation. Hope this helped 🙏🏽

The problem is that I am starting to think because I can't understand if I choose the right path. I am an introvert person and I don't like to have many people around me, than I am scared to be sued for a mistake or to be a risk to take disease being constantly at the bedside. Hi 👋 Christian Thanks for watching & supporting Please remember to Subscribe, Watch & Like 👍🏽 my videos so much valuable information. Ok so YES you will get tested & if you’re positive there’s a big chance you won’t get hired but again I could be wrong. Every place l have worked doesn’t allow any drug use.

@cristian_2055_ Honestly they say random but I have only been tested before. Unless an incident happens at work & then they might.

Oh ok bro my bad I’ll answer your question now. So I will be honest with you using a Cane & having chronic back pain will not suit well in a hospital setting. Even during school you much go through a hospital rotation for clinicals & it’s rough man. We lift patients, we push patients on wheelchairs, we slide patients with a backboard. So as a tech it’s a lot of hands on work. This won’t be a good change. If you want a career in the medical field I would suggest looking into Billing & Coding it’s about 1 year and there’s a certificate you can get once you pass that your making around $18-22 hr it’s an office/desk job which is easier on you & sometimes you can work from home which is amazing! Hope this helped bro 🙏🏽

@juanmotiva8s959 ok, thanks for the insight. What are your thoughts on sonography with accommodations?
@juanmotiva8s959
@juanmotiva8s959 5 ай бұрын
@LuisGarcia-sm2xd At the hospital I work at sonographers have to go get there own patients in stretchers if they are in the hall way but if not the have to push there ultrasound machine around. They are big and slightly heavy so that something tough too.
