Funny that the last technique was one my buddy was harassing me about using at the end of December, so much for it being a spring/summer only bait right? ha ha

Fish are like snakes, cold blooded, metabolism slows way down, thus they do not have to eat as often. But in winter, often they stay in same area for duration of winter pattern. 2 scenariois 1. Look where shallow water meets deep water, it might only be as big as your breakfast table. 2. Sometimes they will Sun themselves shallow or off bank high in water column. Usually they dont move far, often leave that deep spot to shallow right next to deep. Deep is relative, not have to be 20+. Good Luck

I love how you use the Abu next gen vengeance. Such a versatile rondo with amazing sensitivity and strength.. I like my 6’6 medium as a jerkbait rod also for a drop shot and sometimes top water - it’s as all purpose as it gets , and I have 27 rods -probably more- a lot that are 2x the price, but it’s still my fav. I just bought two more a 7’6 heavy for big baits and 7’0 medium for top water and shakey head

What water temps are you seeing there during this video? Also if you mentioned it I missed it, but how long are you having to wait to get a wacky rig down 30-35ft?
@LowBrowFishing
@LowBrowFishing 8 ай бұрын
Water temps are actually down a good bit this year because we've had a much colder winter. It's down into the low 50's and upper 40's in some spots. I don't fish a regular wacky rig that deep. It might look like I'm offshore in the videos, but I'm actually in water that's only about 6-8 feet deep at the most.

Can you link what the baking soda trick is? Great content and really accessible information for the average weekend warrior angler
@LowBrowFishing
@LowBrowFishing 8 ай бұрын
There isn't a link that I know of. It's a trick anglers do to silence the rattles or reduce them. I take a very small drill bit and CAREFULLY drill a small hole in the bottom of the lure. You have to go very slowly so as not to hurt yourself or crack the bait. Then once the hole is made, start scooping baking soda in and every so often add a few drops of super glue. There will be fumes, so watch out for that. But there is a chemical reaction the makes a super hard compound resulting in a slightly heavier and much quieter bait. Hope that helps!

Baking soda and superglue? Have you explained in prior video?
@LowBrowFishing
@LowBrowFishing 8 ай бұрын
I have explained it several times before. Drilling a hole in the bottom of a lipless and then adding super glue and baking soda will greatly reduce the rattles or eliminate the rattle completely. Adding super glue to baking soda causes a chemical reaction that creates a super hard compound.

Why did you choose the blue spearmint color?
@LowBrowFishing
@LowBrowFishing 8 ай бұрын
Two reasons - the water was muddy and stained and I wanted to have some contrast in the water. And I also prefer to fish loud colors in colder water. I feel like I get more bites.

If you had only one reel and rod to fish with, what would it be?
@LowBrowFishing
@LowBrowFishing 8 ай бұрын
I'd have to go with a composite (glass/graphite) 7ft MH with a mod fast tip. Probably a G. Loomis or a Duckett. The reel would have to be a baitcast with 7.1:1 gear ratio. I'm an Abu Garcia guy, but I also like Lew's so either of those brands.

Pros always want to work as fast as they can and make as many casts as they can during a tournament. Deadsticking to catch a bass is the exact opposite of how they want/need to fish.

Tomorrow its going to be a post frontal bluebird sky day here in mid Tn, temps dropping into the 20s , heavy rain blowing out most of the lakes , so cold chocolate milk in the low 40s , probably the absolute worst fishing condition there is, still might go out though lol
