These are the Highlights from the 2018 WSL Big Wave Challenge in Nazare, Portugal. Some of the best riders, and biggest wipeouts from the tournament.
The conditions were all time epic delivering pumping surf to the coast of Nazare.

Ya I hear ya biggest paddle in tube so far but Ramon navarros barrel @ cloudbreak last May will take the wave of the year for sure! And should be awarded "Wave of the decade"

And don’t forget some of those barrels at Nias earlier this year. But they are all winners after making those waves. That feeling of getting a giant barrel is worth more than any prize money. That’s just the cherry on top!

It's so mesmerizing watching these brave men battle these ferocious waves. 🌊🏄‍♂️ I would never surf, (don't trust the ocean) but I would love to visit Portugal once in my lifetime 🇵🇹 (My heritage/nationality) & go to Nazare to witness this!

Why the big boards ? I know close to nothing about surfing, but I've seen other footage where the surfers seem to use much smaller boards. Perhaps I'm just misjudging, but I guess there must be some reason ?
