I really like the meaning behind which species you play. Plus if anything this entire story mode opened an entire can of lore opened; Sunken Scrolls providing random lore, Alterna Logs blatantly revealing the end of one species to birth another, and this entire boss fight, from the Fuzzy Ooze to how Grizzco is called the "Ursine Anomaly #3". If he's the third, where's the other two, and what even is he. Point being, this is a great time to be a Splatoon fan, especially when you're an enthusiast of the lore, AND a profreshional Salmon Run worker

The sense of chaos and almost absurdity of this final fight really shows the reason why Splatoon is Splatoon. A mash of so many rather disconnected ideas coming together to make a game so off-the-rails but presented in a cool, refreshing way that makes me grin like an idiot. Splatoon doesn’t have to be realistic all the time, it just needs to be fun and it has that in spades.

I am one of those who was disappointed, the whole final act just felt underwhelming :( Don’t get me wrong I loved the campaign and playing through it, reading all the logs in anticipation for the final boss, but the final act kinda made me go “that’s it?” While I like the idea of Mr Grizz being the main antagonist his design kinda threw me off, I was expecting more rugged bear look than what we got which is basically a plush toy, kinda makes the whole thing less serious for me even though it shouldn’t as destroying the whole world is pretty high stakes I love the idea of Octavio helping but he just kind of jumps in last minute after not being seen anywhere throughout the story, I feel if he and cuttlefish were trapped together within those radio call cutscenes we could’ve gotten some really fun dialogue of them butting heads with one another on finding a way to escape while also giving him a more deserving redemption arc Lastly I feel Deep Cut was put to the side tbh, they had some really fun boss fights and the cutscene we had with them in the beginning were fun but I feel this story mode should’ve put focus on them and not the squid sisters so we could get more screen time and know more about their character, basically the same way Pearl and Marina’s characters were much more developed in Octo Expansion I’m hoping the upcoming DLC Story for this game will be better, more on the league of octo expansion or somehow even better 😭

This is one of the greatest and most memorable video game finales of all time, on par with the likes of SA2, Uncharted 4, and Spider-Man PS4. This is the apex of Splatoon Single-Player content. When I played Splatoon 1 all the way back in 2015, I never thought I'd see the day that the franchise would go this far. I almost teared up once I saw the thank you for playing screen. This is my favorite video game trilogy of all time!

This seems to be truly the end of Splatoon. Even DJ Octavio the main villan in Splatoon helped out to defeat Mr Grizz. It was fun playing this game, especially because at the Boss fight we heard a Calamari Inkingtation remix. Splatoon 3 Wave Goodbye was also a pretty good song too.

This final boss was in shock, I love the cutscenes, I like how deep cut is helping, love dj octavio as an ally, and Iiked how the final boss was total wildness. The cuteness are incredible in the story mode, it's nothing compared to other splatoon games like this one, story mode has been always a problem, this is what one day I hoped, and the day actually HAPPENED!

I am so glad they took a page from Octo-expansion and made a far more entertaining story than the first two games. I love the Splatoon series and have been playing since day one, but until Octo the story had always been subpar. I will absolutely buy the dlc if it focuses on Off the Hook. Until then, Booyah!

Spoilers for splatoon 3: something I haven’t seen people talk about is that when you kill mr grizz he has small glitchy effects on his body, could this mean mr grizz is still out there or is this a visual thing. Also after you beat the story if you go to the grizz co building the statue has changed, instead of it being a bear with a salmon in its mouth it’s the other way round

You know what would be a great final boss for splatoon 4? This: Mr Grizz and Commander Tartar team up and turn the NIHLS statue from Splatoon 2 into a giant robot, steal the great zapfish to power it, and then trudge toward inkopolis, hoping to destroy it Godzilla style. They are also accompanied by an army of octarians that are both fuzzy and sanitized following behind the robot. You have to chase down the giant robot using an upgraded superfast inkjet and fight through the army. Once you reach the statue, the inkjet is destroyed, forcing you to climb the robot (which is covered in traps, enemies, and foreign ink) on your own. then, on top of its head, you battle a robot inkling that has an arm that can transform into all sorts of different types of weapons. After destroying it, you're knocked off the top of the head and the robot is about to crush you under it's foot, but then all the sea creatures of inkopolis come out and start fighting the army as the calamari inkantion begins playing. The same sea creature energy that turned smallfry into hugefry at the end of Splatoon 3 then turns you into a giant equal in size to the Giant robot. You then wrestle it in a one-on-one fight, and finish it off using a giant Booyah bomb charged by the booyahs of all the denizens of Inkopolis that came out to fight the army in an epic finisher.
