Prospecting the Tarryalls (Trip 2: Topaz), Thorough Investigation of Miarolitic Regions

The second of several prospecting trips to the Tarryall Mountains in Park County, Colorado. Three days spent thoroughly investigating, mapping, and using all resources to pinpoint crystal pockets. The Tarryalls have been tenaciously prospected for over a hundred years. However, among the smoky quartz and feldspar crystals, topaz pockets still lie dormant.

You just inspired a new video. I cannot wait to bust into some crystallographic content now that I know that someone is interested. I'll start working on some sketches that will be useful for illustrating axes and planes of symmetry for more complex crystal forms.

If someone asked me where their chances of seeing a mountain lion were the highest, I'd recommend the Tarryalls.

Phantom canyon is also another highly dangerous place for cats.not to mention the nails poping out of the wooden bridge you have to drive across.
