I've been playing Prosper since release, and it's probably my favorite commander of all time. He's amazing and fun, and I love how he makes Rakdos fun to play. I even piloted a Prosper deck for a few weeks to win my LGS's commander league! This video actually made me rethink a little how I ought to prioritize topdeck manipulation and win conditions more, so thank you!

I have had this same problem with my prosper. this video came at the perfect time as I am updating it now with Chimil, the inner sun and roaming throne (exile two card and make two treasure with prosper)

Ya. I've seen that exact situation too many times. You feel all set up and then you have nothing to actually close out the game. Feels bad.

Prosper while one of the most popular and arguably stronger commanders, he’s definitely one of the most fun. What makes him great is that he takes a small niche of impulse draw and truly make it work. He was my first, still is my favorite, and dang it do I try and make sure I can fit him in every deck I build because dang he’s fun. I’ve built spell slinger multiple times (maybe abusing a certain life gaining nuke and agonizing trendrils a few times, but who hasn’t am I right? 😉) I’ve built a combat focused one with more attack triggers and creature focus. Faldorn came out and made me cry there’s still no jund only exile caring commander (WOTC when?!) At least we got nalfeshnee out of that, and quite frankly that card is NOT talked about enough. When war hammer came out you bet your rhystic studies I shoved him right into abbadon. I fell in love with copy focus for a while and found love with sedgemore witch in the deck as well. Gix, yawgmoth praetor came out soon after and boy was that possibly a bad idea. Pulled that 7 mana ability on an animar player and made them scoop (rightfully so I say. I know they had a blightsteel in there). Stole a time sieve with praetors grasp once. Don’t need to say much else there 😅 A bit later played against the 5 color omnath who had villainous wealth. Maybe played praetors grasp, later on followed by a manga geyser (2-3 through copy’s and past in flames), and copied and casted villainous wealth with x equal…51… Doctor who happened bringing forth David Tennant and Clara, allowing me grixxis suspend and I’ve had a blast with that so far. Caverns of i Alan I haven’t explored much yet but plan to pick up some cards. Discover is useful and the few recommendations here certainly peak my interest. It’s all culminated to a point now for me where I’m building Yidris maelstrom wielder because I really want green exile caring cards and there’s still no jund. Its gonna be great though to let me experiment with power green legendary creatures I’ve always wanted to try (faldorn, almundo the seer, thirteenth doctor, and more) along with all my other past commanders for one big mash up of exile fun and excitement. To a lot of people read my word barf and actually paying it attention, thank you. And thanks to prosper. If it weren’t for him, I would still be stuck in the bottomless pit of depression that was yugioh, and I wouldn’t be having as much fun as I am today. A toast 🥂. Live Long and Prosper for many years to come!

Honestly, I would remove the Viridian Longbow for a Tarrian's Soulcleaver. The amount of treasure generation you get from Prosper would make him a huge threat compared to slow deathtouch pinging. It also, gives him vigilance, allowing him to be a huge blocker along with dealing huge commander damage.

The Cleaver is good when the Bow is bad and the Bow is good when the Cleaver is bad. If I had to choose it would be the Bow because the Cleaver is a win more card.

I think the best inclusion which you could make to the list that you're missing is Delayed Blast Fireball, and I think the most fun inclusion would be Repercussion- which I have used to instantly win games with my burn-wipes. My deck has much more burn focus

This is an interesting , never really been too keen on rakdos colors because of the lack of mana but this deck nullifys my ick and i find Prosper my kind of commander😄

Great video! I've been trying your deck out and enjoying it a lot, but I'm still not super convinced on the Tunnel Grinder, because I can't seem to find a way to descend consistently the two turns after the initial discard and draw, since tokens don't count and when our stuff gets removed during our opponent's turn it doesn't count either. How do you make it more consistent/good? Thanks in advance, take care and keep it up!(:

I think if we're talking about Uba Mask, we should bring up Urabrask, Heretic Praetor, who is more expensive, but does everything the mask accomplishes with the added benefit of letting us still draw on our draw step

Mostly! Urabrask only exiles the NEXT card they would draw. The Uba Mask helps shut off the decks that are drawing more than just the initial card each turn. I didn't include Urabrask for that reason, but also because we were already heavy on mana pip requirements, and another double red seemed like a lot to ask when the Uba Mask was available. A notable include perhaps for those wishing to keep things budget friendly.

@@Tempest-Official ah, I missed that, Mask makes Zenith effects terrible for them when urabrask doesn't. That's definitely better than the extra card when you consider the pip requirement

If you had to make the deck even more budget (somewhere around $100), what can you take out and/or replace?

Luxury Suite, Graven Cairns, Crackle with Power and Haunted Ridge make up 30 dollars in 4 cards. Those would be my first cuts, also getting you around 135 dollars with shipping for all the other cards. You could cut a few more cards that are expensive but then you start getting into core synergy and it may start to fall apart.

Nice video. I somewhat like the deck but its way too complicated for me to play like every card is filled with text and it makes the board state too complex real fast for my taste. Me and my friends sometimes get stoned while playing and there was a funny moment when a friend played the prosper precon and read out a card and got slower and slower while reading and when he finished there were like 3 seconds of silence and then everyone went like "what?" and we burst out laughing.
