I personally find EDH to be kind of unenjoyable (not hating on the format at all, just speaking of my own preference) and it's not something I typically like to play but honestly the people I've seen complaining about Seth talking about EDH stuff lately are super annoying and obnoxious. It might not be my preferred way to play Magic but to say he shouldn't talk about the most popular and most widely played format is just ridiculously selfish and I think it's really cool to see it, along with Brawl, get a bit more love. It's actually kind of interesting to see all of these cards I've never heard of before, kind of a fun refreshing change. It kind of has me wanting to play Brawl again, the format has changed soooooo much since I last played it lol.

The first Falco actually lost it's shield counter when they fought your Prosper. The counters on it after that were +1/+1's. Not to say that Farewell wasn't a lucky hit cause it definitely was.

I also mostly just play Historic Brawl, can't wait for more vids. That Blood money play was so sick. I also use it along with like four other board wipes in my Nalia DeArnise "Party Time" deck, the treasures really help when you can play off the top of the deck. it's my favorite wipe other than Doomskar

I also love using Arcane Bombardment because I made my Prosper with a bunch of sorceries and instants to destroy stuff so even though it doesn’t work with Prosper, I can get so much value from it

I really enjoy watching Historic Brawl stuff, you know, because it's commander. It would also be cool to see commanders that you wouldn't normally expect to be played, like Dalakos, Baba Lysaga, like your opponent was playing. It's a fun format, with a lot of cool deck ideas at your disposal. Either way, keep up the good content Seth!

Historic brawl is really cool. The sets that are in it are some of my favorites, and it has some cool deck builds. Of course you have people jamming the Meta too unfortunately. Better than people tutoring up a rhystic study

I've been playing nothing but historic brawl since we finally made it a perma queue way back when. To me the color and singleton restrictions make the historic format so much healthier and more creative. I 100% support any future brawl content!

Prosper is my favorite commander both in paper and in Arena. My build is more of a "death by a thousand cuts" style, I have cards like Mayhem Devil, Reckless Fireweaver, Marionette Master that hits my opponents whenever I create/sacrifice a treasure. Other cards that I recommend: -Bolas' Citadel: Insane card draw engine, I had games where my opponent was at 25 life and I played it and won that game. Sac'ing 10 nonland permanents to hit each opponent for 10 usually wins the game if there are other cards on the field that trigger from treasures getting sac'ed. -Magda: Ramps to Prosper, fetches Citadel and Goldspan. Really solid card. -Tendrils of Agony: We can easily get to a storm count of 3-4 which doesn't make Tendrils deal lethal damage by itself but we usually have other effects that deal damage so it's enough, even if it's not lethal it gains life which is good against aggro and good with Citadel. -Birgi: Don't sleep on the front side of this card. Boasting twice is insanely powerful :D But seriously getting 1 mana whenever you cast a card is busted if you have multiple cards that are impulse drawing. You can really storm of if you have Birgi + Prosper. -Xorn: Doubles the treasures you get from Prosper. It usually gets killed immediately but if it survives gives an unbelievable amount of value. If you have other interesting cards that goes well with Prosper (in EDH or in HBrawl) I would love to hear them :)

I think the defacto 3 top historic brawl commanders are Kinnan, Nicol Bolas Dragon God and Esika. I think playing a prosper deck into any of those decks is kind of an auto scoop (especially Esika)

Too many people play Esika in this and it's kind of annoying (I've had days where more than half the games I played where against it), but luckily most of the players of that deck are straight up terrible so if you can remove the enchantment part of the commander they have no clue what to do

I just had an idea... Against the Odds Modern featuring a combo you normally only see in EDH in having a deck built around Darien, King of Kjeldor. Cheating it out or ramping into it, giving it protection, and having lifegain for creatures entering. Then your opponent has to win through mill or alt win condition (or just one really freaking big hit)

I think the situation with Go-Shintai is that they are pitting it against every deck possible to get research on what decks are good, and bad against it. But that's just a theory, A game theory.

well yesterday I was using a Kenrith deck and it kept pairing me with Go-Shintai over and over again. No idea why, and even though I love Shrines, I hate that all the lists are control and so much of these lists in general are just hard control lists.

Since you asked at the start of that Esika game: imo Kinnan stands out as probably the best commander for Historic Brawl, it seems tough to build a deck that can consistently beat him without being hopeless against the other top commanders (Golos, Bolas Dragon God, Teferi HoD, Esika, etc).

Yeeeee thanks Seth!! In my experience prosper is not quite a t1 commander. I think the t1 commanders are probably Kinnan, Baral, Teferi and Sythis.

Regarding the match-maker: as soon as Sythis came out, I demolished all decks that I came across for a couple of weeks. After that, I got paired against nothing but nicol bolas/other control+planeswalker decks. It takes on average a week for arena to "learn" what your deck wants to do before pitting you against the perfect counter for it (if it's a deck from a popular youtuber it only takes a couple of days)

The main top tier commanders for historic brawl in the highest bracket for matchmaking include Esika, Sythis, Golos, Kinnan, Muxus, Any Bolas, and Any mono blue counterspell deck (Baral, Talrand, Jin Gitaxias)

honestly, brawl is right in your wheel house. just remember to dodge the niv mizzet and bolas platers ;) my fav is vannifar, btw. you even get to play panharmonicon, and there are a surprising amount of pestermites in the format
