Muhammad Ali and Steph Curry, my favorite athletes of all time. Curry's greatness transcends the basketball court. Did everyone see his hole in one a few weeks ago? There's no doubt in my mind that Curry would excel in any job or endeavor,....hell he could be president of the US if that's what he wanted to do. He'd have my vote.

Nobody has changed the game completely at every level like Steph has. That puts him at number 1 or 2, easily. Even Shaq admitted this. Jordan changed the game but still not at the level steph has. If you want to be a winning team, no longer is it determined by the big man fallacy, but you now have to have 3 point shooters. Can't win in the paint. Not when you're awarded 50% more points for shooting farther from basket. Until that rule changes, mathematical teams who can hit the deep ball will roll over all other teams. Name another player in the history of the basketball that was more revolutionary?

i think steph curry has the biggest chance of almost any nba playerr to make it far, other than his ankle its so much easier to have longevity when you are 6'3 and not 7 foot +, also because he works so hard and is very healthy.
@xum0007
@xum0007 Жыл бұрын
True but honestly even if he was 6’8 or fuck it even taller if he maintained his shot his longevity would probably be very similar. But in that case his game would probably be way different… people change the way they play at different heights, take it from AD who was an elite combo guard his junior year of HS at 6’2” and in a single year became an elite power forward at 6’10” as a senior. Heard this story from KZbin lol, take it with a grain of salt.

Steph is in my top 10 now and if he wins a 5th championship, I will put him in my top 3 and on the Mount Rushmore of Basketball with no thought about my decision and here is why. This guy is only 6’3” and has played with and led one team and checks all the boxes when it comes to accolades and individual NBA awards except All Defense and that is simply because he has had to carry so much of the offensive load for his team and is not required to defend or be a defensive force. Don’t tell me there has ever been a 6’3” and smaller player to ever accomplish what he has in the league right now…..and did it as the leader of one franchise. There is None….Nobody! He is the greatest PG ever…..I love Magic but he was 6’9” and he played with a team full of HOF players who would be in the hall even if they never played with Magic, think about it…..Kareem, Worthy, McAdoo, J Wilkes, Cooper, these players would be great on other teams as well, however…..if Magic was 6’3” and on the Warriors he could not and would not have won even 1 championship but Curry with his skill set has won 4 and counting with players he has turned into HOF candidates (Dray and Klay), so give this man his props. Also, nobody has drawn the attention of defenses like Curry especially without the ball and that includes MJ and LeBron……..if you do not believe me go check the tapes on KZbin!

Iguodola will probably be a hall of famer because of him. He was one of those great young athletic players. He came to Steph after his prime and still had an amazing career. Imagine comparing Draymond/Klay/Iggy and 3 years of KD to Worthy/Kareem AND a great team. Dray/Klay/Iggy are Steph's 'great team' not a borderline MVP player like Worthy and an entire decade of the goat (before Jordan) Kareem. The time he had with Worthy alone is arguably more valuably than the 3 KD years and Kareem was still on the team. Steph not only won before and after KD, but he replaced him with an all time #1 draft pick bust and still won. He has taken role players and journeymen and turned them into champions, one after the other. GPII couldnt make a NBA roster, but now he's a champion and an important piece to a dynasty. Even with his original trio partners declining (Dray/Klay), and his first finals MVP Iggy not even playing, he still won in 22. Wiggins and Looney were essentially his next 2 players. Imagine your favorite player all time winning with Andrew Wiggins as his #2. Curry at this point, is undeniably the system, not just part of it. Just get pieces and it will work.

my question is why when we debate lebron and MJ we bring up lebron’s longevity, but when it comes to Steph and Magic we don’t bring up longevity? When steph has played more seasons in the NBA than Magic.
@split_head_776
@split_head_776 Жыл бұрын
To be fair, Steph had a slow start. Magic was good from the start. Magic had 10-11 great seasons. Steph is currently in the middle of 11 because of his slow start and injuries. I already have Steph, but after this year I think most people should be more open to the conversation. If he puts together 14-15 seasons, it shouldnt be a question
@sakarilawrence6342
@sakarilawrence6342 Жыл бұрын
@@split_head_776 bro to continue to play after injuries just decreases the chances of having a long career, the simple fact that he continued to play after all his injuries speaks a lot of volume in the argument of longevity. People act like after injuries you’re just better than ever. Look at D. Rose, 1 injury completely destroyed his career especially long term. Now steph may not have had as serious as ACL tear but injuries are injuries and it didn’t slow him down at all even in the middle of his career. Unlike Rose, Steph is way better after injuries than before his injuries and is in year 15 and having better seasons than his unanimous MVP season speaks volume on his longevity.
@split_head_776
@split_head_776 Жыл бұрын
@@sakarilawrence6342 By slow start I meant Steph wasnt really himself until around 2013. 2013-23 is 11 years, minus 1 injury year, thats 10 prime years of Steph. Magic was pretty much prime his rookie year. His first stint was 12 years, minus 1 injury year, thats 11 prime years of Magic. At the end of this year, Steph will have tied Magic at 11 prime years in the league. Unfortunately, Magic had to retire due to illness at 32. He came back at 36 for 1 season, but was not the same. I already had Steph as the better player, but his prime longevity is about the same as Magic. If Steph can give us 13-14 prime years then he will undoubtedly be greater than Magic. As you said, Steph has continually gotten better, even into his mid 30's. His game is timeless, so he can even play into his early 40's. If he can gracefully extend his prime similar to LeBron, he will be in top5/mount Rushmore talks. In my opinion, Magic is overrated due to his path to success being much easier (relatively) than other all time greats. Pretty sure Magic was never considered better than Bird, he just won more. Most people have Magic unanimously top5. I have tiers instead of the classic top10 because its hard to only choose 10. Tier 1 (in order) Jordan/LeBron/Kareem. Tier 2 (in no order) Russell, Bird, Duncan, Kobe. Tier 3 (in no order) Wilt, Magic, Hakeem, Shaq, Steph. Steph, being the most recent addition, obviously has the chance to move up to Tier 2 (he's damn near there already). For these Tier 3 and above players, I give the most credit to players who were not only the beginning, but the engine for an entire dynasty run. Russell, Bird (arguable), Jordan, Duncan and Steph. I also give credit to the players who win without a top100 player alltime. Hakeem, Kobe, LeBron and Steph are the only 4 I think. Longevity is another factor, prime longevity being the base requirement. Kareem, Duncan, Kobe, and LeBron benefit the most from longevity. Steph will very soon be on that list as well. Steph being the only player on all 3 of those very short lists is a fact that should be highlighted. His impact on the game is top 3. Magic and Steph are the only undisputed greatest players at one aspect of the game, Magic passing and Steph shooting. It makes sense for the only 2 lacking defenders to be among the greatest offensive pieces ever. Not to mention, Steph is the only Tier3 (maybe even Tier4) and below player to be projected as a role player. The mountain he had to climb to greatness is historic. If Steph actually wins another MVP and/or another title, then he will be at 4 (or at the top of Tier 2) easy for me. He will never pass Jordan or LeBron, but he may just be a threat to Kareem. Magic is stuck in Tier3. Steph has the chance to break into Teir1 with a little more success and longevity. Steph was not supposed to be this great, and yet here he is

I don't really grasp how could people not put Curry in Top-10 considering he really changed the game like nobody else did before he is the master-shooter in a league of his own . 1 and only 3 point scorer, he has all 3 point records, he continues to crush, torch and cook players at 35, on the 3pt, mid-range and can score below the rim without any problems. He is the ONLY UMVP he has far more records than Durant and many many other players. Everybody that thinks he doesn't deserve Top 10 is just plain hater or delusional with 0 basketball knowledge. He is one of the very few players that can get double-triple teamed and still score 30+ and win games, his off ball impact is 1 of a kind and so on and so on. Been saying this since I first saw how he plays in 2014 and his work ethic. I've been telling people that this dude will be a hall of famer, top 10 and will win many chips, crush records and so on. Nobody believed me and laughed.... I will say this Curry > Bird even if ya'll don't agree now at the end of his career you will. I remember it as it was yesterday the season where they lost to the Raptors because of injuries nobody could admit that if they were healthy and Curry didn't get injured they would've won another one. I told everybody that Curry has at least 1 or 2 more after they get back healthy and what happened (2022) everybody laughed, why is nobody laughing now? I will say it again this roster now has a high high chance of winning another win with Curry dominating again.

Waiting for the Chef’s next remaining x number of years playing the game before retiring from the NBA, to net x number of MVP awards and/or NBA titles. Surpassing MJ’s six rings (well, doubt he’d ever surpass Bill Russell’s 12 rings, in a less-competitive era though) Then, the GOAT debate would’ve pretty much been over. Til then, MJ being the GOAT is still a pretty huge hurdle to cross.
