I was diagnosed with Prostate cancer about 2 years ago, had 5 days of radiation therapy and after dealing with many side effects, I'm doing well, thanks be to God! You're right, the mental battle is the whole game! I do recommend talking to a Psychologist if you can. As I found out, although you have family and friends around you, unless they've experience what you are experiencing, it's hard to talk to them. Praying for you Joe! 🙏

Hi Joe, I am going true the same thing like you. Had the biopsy a week ago.waiting for the results. I include in my comment what my Dr recommends for treatment. Transrectal prostate HIFU therapy, also known as high-intensity focused ultrasound therapy, is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat prostate cancer. The procedure is typically carried out using a device called Sonablate for 50, which uses ultrasound energy to target and destroy cancerous tissue in the prostate gland. During the procedure, the patient is placed under anesthesia and a small ultrasound probe is inserted into the rectum. The probe emits high-intensity ultrasound waves that are focused on the cancerous tissue in the prostate, heating and destroying it while leaving surrounding healthy tissue unharmed. The procedure is guided by real-time imaging to ensure precise targeting of the affected areas. Patients undergoing transrectal prostate HIFU therapy can typically expect minimal discomfort and a short recovery time. They may experience some urinary symptoms such as frequency, urgency, or difficulty urinating following the procedure, but these usually resolve within a few weeks. Most patients are able to resume their normal activities within a few days of the procedure. The outcomes of transrectal prostate HIFU therapy can vary depending on the stage and aggressiveness of the cancer, as well as the overall health of the patient. In general, the therapy has been shown to be effective in treating localized prostate cancer while preserving urinary and sexual function. Some patients may require additional treatments or follow-up procedures to ensure the cancer is completely eradicated. Overall, transrectal prostate HIFU therapy offers a less invasive alternative to traditional treatments for prostate cancer, with fewer side effects and a quicker recovery time. However, it is important for patients to discuss the risks and benefits of this procedure with their healthcare provider to determine if it is the best option for their individual situation. Good luck to you good bless you.

Been there, diagnosed at 67 in 2021. PSA 6.5, MRI confirmed large lesion, biopsy Gleason bad 7, DNA moderate aggressive. Local doctors only offered radiation. Went to UC San Diego, got hooked up with the most skilled surgeon in the country(probably the world), latest robot. Biopsy post surgery, Gleason 9 Stage 3A, negative margins. intraductal cancer(hence the relative low PSA). ZERO side effects post surgery but told I might have to start hormones in 3-4 months. 6 week ultra sensitive PSA .02. Every 3 month PSA .02. Pelvic CT scan and full body bone scan at 2 years negative. Most recent PSA 2 1/2 years out .01 or undetectable. Feel great, mountain bike 4 times a week. A skilled San Diego surgeon saved my life. Wish I could find a way to repay.

Just found out sbout my prostate cancer a month ago and in panic mode of course. Anxiously waiting on prostectomy surgery and PET scan right now. After reading your account I feel better and more hopeful that I might actually survive this thing. Thanks so much for the inspiring post. Best wishes on your continued recovery.

@bryank1089 you will prevail! You are definitely not alone. The most important thing is building your support group. You got this, brother. If I can help in any way, give me a shout on email. Braakus@aol.com. next video Friday after biopsy.

Hey Joe. I just heard about this a little over a week ago. I would have reached out earlier, but I was distracted, healthwise. Rowan and I are rooting for you. You have always been so kind to us.
