We do already have 3-DOF pilot suspension. It is on about the 5th iteration and improving every time. If you have too much isolation you lose the ability to feel the motion of the mech and it inhibits pilot connection, so there is a sweet spot.

@@exosapientech ...Which, if I remember correctly, was the reason why Ranger pilots needed to be _mentally_ connected to the Jaegers in the _Pacific Rim_ movies- they needed tactile sensors on the outside to be able to orient themselves with where the body and limbs were. It would also allow the pilots to be able to judge where pressure and damage was being applied. The downside, however, was the Jaegers were so damn big by necessity that the sensory input would easily overwhelm the lone pilot, and so they needed to share the neural workload between two pilots, hence the required mind-bridging experience called "drifting".

Yes because it's not like this tech is going to end up weaponized and eventually used against us.
@cainen63554 жыл бұрын
@@Thyalwaysseek You would have to just not advance in technology at all for something to not be weaponized. Technology is always a double edged sword. You can either create harm or joy with it and there are always people who will use it in one or the other way. That is unavoidable. War is not born from technology, it is born from fear and hatred. chimpanzees have wars too and they don't need a mech for it. Besides that I don't see how a clunky four legged mech that isn't even self operating would be a big advancement to the military. It is probably not faster than a tank and their is no reason it will be in the near future, it is more vulnerable and it can't shoot any more accurate than a tank would so it's basically useless for military usage.

I'm pleased to add that, even if this technology and the theatre of war changes in such a way that an expensive, fussy, cutting edge sports machine that takes months of training to master does somehow become the weapon platform of choice, it is enshrined in our corporate constitution that we will not weaponize the tech, nor knowingly sell the tech to anyone wishing to weaponize it.
