This does remind me of something ............ yes, a long time ago in another galaxy when I started configuring IPSec tunnels with Cisco ASAs in a hub and spoke topology ... I had to configure crypto maps to match this and that, etc ..... It was a nightmare. Well said. But, then thank God. I discovered Netscreen firewalls and all of a sudden the hub and spoke topology became a child game to configure. Route based IPSec tunnels and the cherry on the cake was running OSPF between the different sites so I didn't even have to bother about configuring static routes. Cisco firewalls were and still are a nightmare.
@scipio10102 жыл бұрын
And I almost forgot, with Netscreen firewalls one could to Point-Multipoint IPSec tunnel configuration which was ideal for a hub and spoke topology. Something that Cisco firewalls could only dream of.

Thank you Franz Ford Decrito! Yes, I have been using Eve-NG for several months, and am loving it. I have more consistent success when working with Eve-NG than I have with GNS3, but I know GNS3 is getting better all the time as well. It may just be a preference thing at this point.

Keith, but we still do iPsec tunnel still. Ikev1, iKev2 are the bread and butter of our vpn. We mainly deploy 3 vendors: Fortigate, ASA, and PA. Our customers however, can use whatever tunnel capable device they can get their hands on. I guess we are still stuck in the stone age of network security lol

@@KeithBarker That's awesome to hear, keep up the great work. I really enjoy your videos on KZbin and CBT nuggets. Your Palo Alto series really helped me out when I started a Network Administrator role. SD-WAN is the way of the future and will hopefully help enterprises get rid of their MPLS networks that are costing them millions a year and replace it with normal WAN (physical and 4G/5G) connections.
