The Hazardous was a British Third Rate ship of the line which was beached in Bracklesham Bay during a storm in 1706. Acting as an escort for a convoy enroute from Chesapeake Bay to the Thames Estuary, she took shelter in St Helen's Roads, Isle of Wight, but was forced to beach in Bracklesham Bay. Originally a French Third or Fourth Rate ship of the line, she had been captured by the English three years previously and refitted for the Royal Navy.

In December 2022 Historic England put out a call for proposals to celebrate 50 years of the Protection of Wrecks Act. MSDS Marine were commissioned to undertake a project to bring maritime archaeology to inland, landlocked, audiences. As part of the project a 360° camera was loaned to licensee teams to gather footage of the protected wreck sites to use on a Oculus Go headset at public events.
This footage was collected by Rodrigo Ortiz Vazquez and the Hazardous Project team in August 2023. You can view the footage in 360° using a virtual reality headset (it works best this way), or you can explore the 360° elements of the video by using your mouse, or moving your phone or tablet, to see new areas.
