Hi Rosie. We encircle our hostas with shaved Irish Spring soap (about 3-4 " out from the stems) in spring just before the new buds appear. Works wonders here for slugs and bunnies. Your suggestions are new to us and sound great also. Just pray for no hail to massacre leaves, after all our hard work !! 🥴

Love the idea about keeping the bait dry! I have a question about taking Hydrangea cuttings. I take cuttings just below nodes, strip of leaves for the bottom half, dip cuttings in rooting powder and put the cuttings in about 2-3 inches of compost. I've never had one take. What could I be doing wrong Thank you from a local gardener
