Just used gold class carnauba plus paste wax on my metallic dark grey Audi. It looks amazing and it was so easy to use. I just cleaned and clay barred the car. Then I applied it to the whole car, waited 10 minutes and it buffed off so easily. I found that it even filled some really small scratches, it’s not permanent but it still helps to improve your paintwork temporarily. I recommend using a second buffing cloth to get all the residue off and that lovely shine

I thought i was upgraded when i used a microfibre mit with car wash in one bucket 😆😆 Now its 2 bucket with grid guard, i even have pressure washer and Meguiar snow foam cannon. Soon id like to compound/polish to erase swirls on my black painted SUV

G'day Meguiars, I love your line of products and have purchased many compounds, tire shines, polishes, washes, microfibers, waxes (especially ultimate liquid wax, my new favourite wax for its easy appliance and non trim whitening). My main question is why do Meguiars products retail in Australia for such high prices as compared to the U.S and the U.K? Ultimate compound for example sell for a minimum $30 here in our auto shops. How long any protection/wax lasts is highly variable and depends on a number of factors related to the condition of the paint, previous prep, and the environmental elements the vehicle is exposed to. That being said we would recommend most daily drivers be waxed at least 3-4 times per year.

How often can you reapply the liquid wax. I know it all depends but i heard you can get a build up... once a month? Looking for the best shine and not necessarily worried about durability

what is the approximate time that I have to wait till the wax cure, 3-5 min? And what will happen if I wait longer time?

The Ultimate Wax does not dry like a traditional wax and will not haze up or turn chalky and dry. That is why we recommend wiping it off in just a few minutes. You can certainly wait a little longer without any consequences.

That depends very much on the current condition of your paint and your desires for it. Are you planning to remove defects and polish to a high shine before applying wax? Are you only looking for a high shine in one step? Are you looking for the best protecting wax? Is the car parked outdoors or exposed to the elements much or is it a garaged show car? @@meguiars It is clayed and machine polished with the ultimate compound every year and garaged, the paint is in very nice condition, the car only really gets used in dry weather.

Our Gold Class Wax would be a good choice and will give your car great shine/gloss. The newer synthetic waxes will offer better/longer protection but if the vehicle is rarely exposed to the elements the "best" protection may not be as important. 👍

Not entirely sure what you are asking? If you are asking if you need to wax after applying a ceramic coating the answer is no but you can certainly consider using our Hybrid Ceramic line of products to help maintain protection and water beading if you like.

Not sure what you are referring to? Although certainly designed to work best on paint our Ultimate Wax should not be perfectly safe on headlights as well.

When applying the wax the last step do you need to use a panel wipe to get any greeze of before putting on wax panel wipe like isopropyl alcohol ??

Not typically, no. That is more necessary when applying a coating but not often necessary when simply applying a wax as your last step of the detailing process.

So it's okay to apply wax in a circular motion? It won't create swirls?

Swirls do not come from the direction you are applying or wiping off. The same thing will happen if you wipe straight back and forth. Of course the "swirls" won't be swirls they will be fine scratches in a straight line. Preventing this fine scratching has nothing to do with the pattern and everything to do with using the appropriate safe materials to wash, dry, apply polish/wax, remove products, etc.

Ok guys I need some help, I just purchased a new car MG3 in white, they are trying to sell me a nano paint protector which has a 10 year guarantee, cost around $1000, do I actually need this done or can I use a Meguiars product that will do the same thing? ty

Be careful of claims like this that lead you to believe you don't need to do anything to your cars paint for years. There is nothing that is bullet proof or will replace good maintenance practices.

Hi Daniel, yes, you are welcome to do this. Some users experiment with "layering" different waxes, like you have mentioned, synthetic polymer first, carnauba next. Although some users do this, most of us here at Meguiar's typically apply two coats of one product. After all, achieving maximum show car shine that we are known for come a lot from the preparation work done prior to waxing.

Question : What polish do you recommend if I am using the Gold Class Carnauba Plus wax on my silver vehicle?

"Polish" as we define it is designed to create a brilliant high gloss. A pure polish will not remove defects. You are certainly free to use any polish before any wax. The most popular are our Ultimate Polish or our #7 Show Car Glaze. Either will give great shine. Keep in mind the Gold Class Wax has polish in it as well so even just applying the wax will create really nice gloss/shine.

At what stage would you use the new NXT Generation Polymer Paint Sealant? Instead of wax?

Hi Jason, that would be used in place of wax. You can basically think of it as a synthetic wax. More durability, longevity & protection than a traditional carnauba.

Thanks for a quick response. Any chance your going to do a final overview on your Detailing 101 series? Maybe covering how regularly some of the stages of detailing should be done. For example the compound polish doesn’t have to be done every detail and how some of the products last multiple washes. Thanks the videos, I’m very much a beginner and these have help heaps.

I have this exact bmw in this same colour; just replicated this whole process and it looks amazing :). I actually used gold class carnauba plus paste wax instead of ultimate paste wax because i wanted more depth and richness than just high gloss. I know gold class may not last as long though so what can i use to boost protection in between waxing? Is there some sort of detailer or spray wax?

You can certainly use any of our spray detailers or spray waxes but if you want the best protection our Hybrid Ceramic Detailer might be the best choice for you.

@@meguiars ok great, another question actually: I bought the hybrid ceramic clay kit a while back and found it worked really well on the glass but not at all on the paint, it couldnt remove tar or anything really at all. Is this normal as I used the regular clay bar with the hybrid ceramic detailer and it worked a treat

It is somewhat normal as traditional clay is a little more aggressive/effective when you have stubborn contaminants. If you know for a fact that is the case on your particular vehicle at any given time you should choose a traditional clay bar. Thanks for the feedback. 👍

The polish leaves an oily layer. Should I remove it prior to waxing?

Shouldn't really be oily after applied and wiped off thoroughly. Not sure what you mean here? Typically you apply/remove a polish and then apply/remove the wax, one right after the other. There is not usually another step in between.

Yes, that is was Fast Finish is just a great synthetic protection in a spray form. It is serving the same purpose as a wax/sealant. 👍

Yes, you certainly can. The Hybrid Ceramic Wax will work right over any other wax, sealant, or coating.

Quick Detailer can be used any time you want to wipe safely remove light dirt, dust, fingerprints, fresh bird droppings, etc. You typically would not "need" to use one to wipe down your car right after waxing but you certainly can.

A detail spray can be used almost any time you like to safely remove fresh/loose dirt, dust, fingerprints, fresh bird droppings or water spots, etc. There is no reason you would typically need to use it right after waxing unless a fresh layer so dust just hit the car or something of that nature.

What wax would you use on a white car?

This is a much more broad question than you might think. The short answer is paint is paint and you do not need a special wax formulated for only white cars. Most cars have a clear coat (clear paint) as their top layer. The color can affect shine, gloss, etc. but you are in essence still caring for the paint the same way regardless of the color.
