Modernized PASGT gang! There are some great options out there that don't break the bank, you can get a US or Japanese made NIJ Lv IIIA ACH or PASGT from Security Pro USA for under 300 bucks, and they have other variably priced options too including Team Wendy and such.

My go-to affordable ballistic helmet is the PGD Arch Gen 3. They're about the same price as the HHV ballistic helmet. I actually think it's a bit cheaper, but it has the team Wendy style boa system, it's ballistic capabilities are equal to an opscore when comparing back face deformation and it's a bit lighter than the HHV. I wouldn't waste a penny on the HHV when there's more affordable, lighter weight, ballistically superior helmets with better suspension systems.
@Saboteur_914 ай бұрын
I agree. The PGD is great. Definitely better than a HHV. Especially if it’s on sale. Blue Jean operator ballistic test proved it’s good to go

I been looking into these for a while now. I just pulled the trigger on mine.
@philjimito72504 ай бұрын
@@marshalleng1933 I have 2 of them. They perform the same as an opscore. They're amazing helmets for the price. The only thing I suggest changing on it is the Arc Rails. They suck. My peltors always fall off when I pop them out. Theyre not good at holding anything. I'd also suggest changing the NVG base plate shroud with the Wilcox that has the aluminum insert. Another thing, if you change the arc rails, you'll have to get specific ones that will fit the helmet.
@marshalleng19334 ай бұрын
@@philjimito7250 PGD had an option to upgrade the shroud to a Unity one. I went ahead and did that. Also whose rails will work? I have the FMA AMPs to go with this helm. But no comms yet..
@philjimito72504 ай бұрын
@@marshalleng1933 they must have just started doing that, I was never given that option when I ordered mine a year ago. The rails I got were some FMA arc rails from eBay made for the MICH ACH. You'll have to Dremel down the inside of the rails to get them to fit. PGD helmets use the MICH ACH chin strap foot print instead of the standard ops core arc rail foot print.

If I were to do my ballistic helmet purchase again, I'd go with GunNook Ballistic Helmets. You can customize your helmet with accessories or grade of ballistic protection. To my knowledge, they outsource to China, but use US materials for the ballistic protection like Hardhead Veterans. You can also have an American Made helmet if you should choose so, but of course that increases the price. But let it be known their customer service sucks. I've emailed inquiries three times and call one time and no replies. Did buy their ARC rail and it's solid.
