The scary thing about combine empire is it's ability to adapt and improve any kind of species they have either struck a deal with or conquered. As you have said, using humans against humanity by rewarding those who will control, punish and order other humans. Those who want a better life with food, home and family save will join the Civil Protection or become soldiers for the Combine Empire. Dark yet amazing.

Don’t forget: we genuinely have NO IDEA of the true scale of the entirety of the Combine. Even the combine “Forces” aren’t even the actual army itself. It’s just a garrison. And not even a big or significant one. It’s basically something that’s barely there in any meaningful way. We’re so insignificant that we’re not even worth even their lowest, basic soldiers. Even in the cut content and information of the upcoming sequel was to give us a glimpse, a GLIMPSE of the Combine empire and even then, we’d barely get any new information about them. And the Scale of it is genuinely horrifying. There’s no winning against the Combine in an all out War. It’s just Survival and praying that they don’t notice you long enough to leave anything meaningful impression. The Combine is horrific in all the ways that it can be, from the physical threat to the body horror, psychological nightmare and even the existential threat they are. And I hate and love them all the more for it.

@@CaptainFirespitter from what I understand while Earth is beneath their empire's notice, their equivalent political elites took note because Earth is harboring "something" (deliberately vague because I can't remember how to spell or pronounce the names) they've been hunting which would further their own agenda. The Combine as a whole doesn't give two shits about us, and even their leadership our planet's name is just a attachment to the reports about the thing they actually care about.

Even more terrifyingly they were primarily used during the Seven Hour War....imagine what the Combines other soldiers look like....

@@dj11o9er yes but then what infantry did they use? They didn't have any human soldiers for the 7 hour war, and we don't have any concept art for that as even the Synth art for the OG synth infantry were still originally once human in the concept.

The transhuman soldiers are just drones, just disposable soldiers the Combine uses, they suppress their memories, replace their eyes with those lenses, and even more terrifyingly in Half Life Alyx: when you kill one of the soldiers they say things like "I'm sorry" or "Help us". Also The Pug growling at the beginning is so based 😂

The fucked up part is in Alyx it's implied that they can only do that because the combine hasn't figured out the human mind yet.

Cool! More Half Life stuff! Like to see more reactions to stuff like these. There’s still some minor bits and pieces you may not know, but overall, can’t wait for more. I also advise you watch “Blue Eyes.” It’s another terrifying animation.

Combine scans native lifeforms from the universes it conquers and recreates them as synths, which was their main army that conquered Earth in 7 hours. Combine occupation forces on Earth are mostly humans and modified humans with some basic combine tech and minor synth support. Combine is unable to move their main forces to Earth at will due to them not having the technology to easily teleport between locations. (The main reason they didn't just gut Earth of all resources, exterminated humans and moved on as they seemed to have planned at first is because they are trying to research the teleportation technology discovered at Black Mesa and maybe Aperture Science, and because Dr Breen convinced Combime that humans might be of more use as a part of Combine.)

boss the ship in the beginning is biomechanical just like every thing the combine uses for vehicles there are some exceptions again i dont remember everything off the top of my head

old man, you should definitely react to half life lore videos. a channel called Skyrionn makes some short and pretty good ones, although you need to know that he sometimes does "lore" videos on the HL2 beta which is basically an entirely different game then HL2 retail so lookout for that (it should say if its beta lore in the title of the video)
