I am a former athlete and was still sporty and active in my fifties but was on the pill until 52. Then all the menopausal symptoms kicked in with a vengeance and got frozen shoulder, joint and muscle pain and extreme brain fog and many other horrible things. When I went on HRT all that disappeared within days and weeks. I could go running again and get a lot more exercise. I will never go off these hormones again as I think that they are part of the big orchestra of hormones. Yes, nutrition and exercise are fundamental but having your own hormones back is fundamental too. By the way, I never smoked or drank large amounts of alcohol... So for many women HRT is part of the solution to get their lives back 🙏♀️! Best wishes from Germany

@@nicolemerz1731 agree!! I’m entering my 3rd month on bio identical HRT. While I did not have the symptoms as you have described, I was feeling a bit less motivated in my physical activities and having irregular periods over the last year. I’m a stand-up paddleboarder and love to amateur race (along with practicing handstands and hiking). I turned 50 this year and want to be proactive in restoring my vital hormones from a positive healthspan view. Best wishes and health to you 🩵🌟

I’m 63 and had 3 kiddos between 36-40. I changed my workouts with each child while working including swimming, running, lifting, & walking & Ommming. I found everything in moderation but daily exercise never the less. I did pull my groin in leg press during 1st child and found swimming a mile a day very successful during pregnancy from 39 -40. Best thing ever.

I tried the lifestyle changes before trying bhrt. And saw significant improvements through diet and some supplementation.The other lifestyle changes ie exercise, stress management, and sleep I could not master without bhrt. I will admit that I had many external factors that were probably working against me (and my adrenals ?!) For instance, caregiving for parents, stressful home and career responsibilities all right after receiving the jab. Coming out of now and some days feel euphoric but still working on stress/adrenals

Many women cannot do resistance training without HRT, so HRT is nessesary and helpful for womens health.
@jenniferfulljames1685Ай бұрын
What? I do resistance training and I am 60 and 9+ years post meno...hrt has nothing to do with it in my op. You increase muscle which helps the hormones.
@IceQueenyАй бұрын
@@jenniferfulljames1685 but if every move is painful and there are low hormon levels, HRT can save lives and also helps against muscle loss, becouse resistance training is only possible with HRT in this case.

Drs Vonda Wright, Mary Haver, Felish Gersh, and dr Avrum Blumen ( estrogen matters book) all medical doctors, promote the importance of estrogen for post menopausal women to protect heart and brain health - I don’t know how Stacy can say there is no evidence for hrt benefits for health other than menopausal women symptoms.

Here are woman, like me, that are doing strenght training in combination worh HIT and after hitting perimenopauze the brainfog and sleepdeprivation is impacting my capability to work out in a very negative way. So in some cases it helpt to get hrt to be able to continue my sport activitys
@GingerinthesouthАй бұрын
I’m same way I’ve been without hrt and just use good supplements and protein electrolytes and water to keep my body humming along, if I screw it up by eating more sugar or more carbs than my body needs that’s on me and I can only blame my choices 😂

Of course, replacing real hormones with synthetic ones in puberty/young women is truly detrimental but why is she equating it and drawing parallel with HRT supplementation in perimenopause. This is completely different situation. Each cell in our body has estrogen receptors - our body is attuned to it, used to it, it’s giving us metabolic edge - she said so herself, so why she is suddenly so against supplementing HRT in perimenopause/replacing it in menopause to compensate for that decline, seriously. Just how u cant exercise yourself out of a bad diet, u cant exercise yourself out of the hormonal loss. And stuff that it doesn't affect cognition is just not true. There is research on it, and personally, without any other lifestyle changes, had a profound positive effect on me.

I had huge depression symptoms and rise in my ADHD as entering perimenopause in my later 40s...taking HRT helped me balance my brain....just for that I'm a believer in the effects of HRT...

This is so needed! Thanks for having Stacy On! I think that her perspective is a great one and after having tried hrt myself in peri I think that the exercise tips are helping me as is clean eating and creatine magnesium d3. I like that we have options for every woman. I think sometimes we look for a sure 😊thing and even with hrt I think we have to still do the work and earn right just like with the GLP 1 shot you still have to do the work. You can’t just take the shot and expect to lose all this weight. I have many friends who get that boost at first from the shot and then once they take it a week or two later, they lose no weight because they haven’t changed their habits so I think that, we all get into this trap of thinking we have an instant fix so thank you Cynthia for always stressing. The fact that lifestyle changes are the most important and supplementing can work if we are doing the other things thank you for the show. I just found Stacy and I’m glad that you interviewed her perfect timing.❤

Looking to learn. Women was or still are excluded from so many things in society and this isn’t right and unfair. Thanks for shedding the light on this. My mom didn’t prepared me for my menstrual cycle until my first bleed when I was 14.

My problem is pre-mentrual migraines. I do weights training three times a week (I'm a climber and I do weights in addition to climbing) and I do do speed interval training. I am generally fit. I eat healthy I have a healthy weight and I don't suffer from hot flushes or night sweats. I just cannot find anything for the migraines. How can I remedy the dropping estrogen levels before my period? I don't have migraines at any other time.

I also have issues with hormonal migraines. I had cut out sugar, alcohol, decreased processed foods and still struggling with them. My doc finally put me on a low dose estradiol patch 3-4 days before my cycle and it has helped tremendously.
