I am 59 and love working out fasted, Every one is a individual and what works for one doesn't necessarily work for someone else.

Exactly!That’s what we call bio individuality

I think its more about if you want to build muscle and how to best get more protein in and with IF its just harder to meet protein needs and if you want to change your body comp/lose fat vs just feeling better.

@@jenoconnor I haven't had a problem getting in enough protein during my eating window so I am also able to gain muscle. Believe me if it was going to cause me not to take in enough protein I would not fast.

What brand of protein powder would you recommend? Or should I focus on whole food protein sources such as chicken, tuna etc. ?

What about vegans? I am primarily a whole food plant-based vegan and I very rarely eat anything like dairy and I don't like eggs. Is eating beans and tofu and things like that the same level of protein that you're talking about? You're talking about the same guidelines like a piece of meat, the size of your hand and then some vegetables on the side, but I don't eat like that I eat a lot of beans and whole grains and fruits and I rarely eat any processed food anyway Please try to give guidelines for vegans when you are giving advice 🙏

That is exactly the way I eat. I put good food in my body, but never enough and never at the right time. Lol. Great advice.

MD Anderson has a study on intermittent fasting for their female breast cancer patients. No matter the diet they had better outcomes fasting.

I’ve read about basically”starving” cancer, but for healthy women, we need more protein for muscle protein synthesis.

Thank you so much for splicing up this VERY practical and educational interview, based on specific subjects (like sprint training and protein intake). This has helped me focus on exactly the points I need. SUPERRRRRR helpful & valuable content for women who train hard and refuse to give up ‘fabulous’ as they get better with time.

Honestly she’s a bit confusing. So if I weigh 150, how many grams of protein should I eat per meal?
@engagepersonaltraining9142 ай бұрын
@@Snackcat57 you’d take your weight (in kg) and multiply by 2 So it would be about 68kg x2= 136g of protein per day

What is your not training per se but regular exercise. How much protein per kg and carbs do you usually recommend
@Ranch-girl7 ай бұрын
This was very interesting; however, why do the influences these days say we need soooo much more protein than we used to eat and thrive on. For instance, back in the Cindy Crawford days (as mentioned @ 3:15 time stamp)? It used to work, right? Just asking!🤔

Adding 3,5 gr of Leucine to 20 gr protein might do the trick?

The actual long term research on protein is kilograms per pound of ideal body not pounds per ideal body weight ! Ppl get this so screwed up ! Example I’m 5’2” weight 120 pounds …. Divide 120 by 2.2 and that equals 54 ….. that’s minimum protein grams I need daily ! But the upper limit is 54 times 2 so that’s 108 grams I can eat daily but that’s if I’m doing heavy body building ! Stop telling people it’s 1 gram per pound of body weight ! It 1 to 2 grams PER KILOGRAM OF BODY WEIGHT 😣 ppl keep getting it wrong and women are eating too much protein and if it’s not used it’s store and raises blood sugar and A-1C !!!!!!!!
@engagepersonaltraining9143 ай бұрын
What research are you referencing regarding higher protein levels raising blood sugar if not used?

Bullshit I don’t eat that much high protein and I gain substantial muscle at 55 menopausal lift weights 3 days a week

Thanks for your comment - My grandmother smoked a pack of cigarettes every day until she passed away at 90 of natural causes… It seems like a stretch to say stop smoking is “bullshit” advice. Individual experience and circumstances will always vary, but just because you have an experience one way doesn’t mean the actual scientific data supports it. But we are always open minded… I’m curious to see the data and research to support that Dr. Stacy Sims is giving BS guidance. If you’ve got it, send it our way
