After many years of prohibition and criminalisation new science is demonstrating that psychedelic treatment can be very helpful in treating psychological and also neurological conditions. When psychedelics are used in clinical settings, and when the dosage is controlled in line with ethical guidelines, they are powerful newest treatments for depression, Trauma, PTSD, OCD, disordered eating, addiction, chronic pain and even stroke.
In my previous video, I talked about Professor David Nutt who is one of the world’s leading Neuropsychopharmacologists; he spent almost two decades researching psychedelic treatment and it is his most significant, body of work to date.
David Nutt is interested in understanding the use of MDMA, ayahuasca, magic mushrooms, LSD and ketamine. The results of his research have been nothing short of ground-breaking for the future categorisation of drugs, but also for what we now know about brain mechanisms and our consciousness.
