Since ditto has the ability to replace and recreate cells on commands, it never dies (of old at at least). Therefore it doesn't have to have to breed. But when ditto loses this ability it is forced to evolve/adapt to have genders in order to repopulate since now it will die of old age and the species will eventually die out.

Before you read i apologize for any mistakes. English is not my first language. But anyways. What if, back at cinabar island in that mansion, when they tried to copy mew they would only get dittos but then they tried to add in something extra like a moon stone (for reasons) they succeded in doing that and created mewtwo but they couldnt compress the radiation and "not clean" radiation hit several dittos and eventually, after mewtwo destroyed that mansion, they became grimers. That would explain why mewtwo looks so much more evolved and space looking because it could be just mew evolved useing moon stone. And since moon stones are from moon they have that x-ray radiation on them. Basicly saying that "x-ray beams are from moon" could not mean that are directly sent from moon but rather from the moon stone. Plus i think proto did make a theory that evolution stones have radiation in them that make pokemon evolve when exposed to them. I know there are few flaws here and there but still what do you guys think? Could mewtwo be created with help of moon stone and that grimer result of dittos exposed to that radiation, but not enough to transform into mewtwo but enough to mutate into grimer.

Rock types can be hit normal effective by Electric types. The only rock type Pokemon that can't be hit by Electric type are Rock/Ground (which there are only 9 of in the entire game). So the real question is: Why would Ground types need to know Mud Sport if Electric type moves are ineffective against them?

Proto I've been watching your videos for a while and ive also looked into a lot of theories of my own and would like to discuss them with you. One of the theories I've looked into is that grimer/muk resemble water pollution, koffing/weezing resemble air pollution, and trubbish/garbodor resembles land pollution. And when they evolve its kinda like the pollution is growing and becoming a bigger problem

I don't think, that the gender question is too much of a problem here. Ditto is not genderless. It has the ability to aquire both genders. (Breeding, it can be male and female) So when Ditto's were altered into grimor they just formed into one of the two genders (maybe on preference, their last formation or whatever gender was the nearest.. i dont know). Why does Ditto occur in places where grimor does not? Simple: The changing ability. Ditto can survive and exist everywhere without great harm because it can adapt to all situations. But Grimor can not. It pollutes it's surrounding and i guess it has some preferences for it's surrounding. So when the former Ditto lost it's ability to change the form, it also lost it's adaptability. Problems solved

I have a theory, tornadus, thunderus, and landorus were createrd by hoopa while hoopa was created by Giratina, if you think about it Tornadus and Thunderus are tricksters, and all 3 of them look like genies while Hoopa is like the king of genies and is also a trickster, Giratina creator of alternate dimensions and time and space within those dimensions, punished for bad behavior to his dimension (like how Hoopa lost its powers) and Hoopa has a similar ability where he opens portals that can transfer things through time and space, also another note is the reveal glass is looking into an alternate world and pulling out the other forms of the kami trio, maybe it is actually a portal and just swaps out the kami trio's forms from this world with another, and the reveal glass works iin similar ways to Hoopa's powers and Giratina's powers of traveling through alternate universes

Hmm, I think this is far fetched. I would theorize that Grimer came into existence as a byproduct of Ditto. Like, Ditto was likely created in the Pokemon Mansion, when Fuji and Team Rocket were attempting to clone and power up Mew but they repeatedly failed before creating Mewtwo. The experiments would naturally cause a lot of pollution and waste, from this waste, and the fact that they are trying to create life, combined with these frankly amazing 'moon x-rays' - Grimer inadvertently came into existence. This would have happened many years preceding Red and Blue, as Mr. Fuji was a relatively young man when doing these experiements; allowing Grimer to spread across the pokemon world by the events of the other games, we know migration happens fast, there is only 2 years between B&W and B&W 2.

Hey proto tell me if I'm crazy but here's a theory, the new fossil pokemon Amaura is a prehistoric Baleef, I mean don't you see the resemblance and it changes into an ice rock type because 1 it's a fossil and 2 it's states in the dex that it's body has been frozen in ice and when both evolve they still look familiar with the body build out and it evolves differently because it's DNA has been altered by its being in ice and the restoration process

I think that grimer is an attempt at creating Arceus clones. This is why grimer has a basis in Sun and Moon. The Aether Foundation was trying to recreate Arceus with type null, after all.

I can understand Ditto being a failed clone of Mew but Grimer being a mutant Ditto? Seems a bit farfetched. Grimer's Pokedex entry totally blows this theory out of the water. Only possible way for this theory to be plausible is if Ditto were to have transformed into a pile of sludge like how Ditto transformed into a book in the anime, got hit by x-rays from the moon which takes away it's transformative abilities, gave it genders and changes it's typing to poison turning it into Grimer.

Hmm, I find it hard to believe since I am dead set on ditto being a failed attempt at cloning mew due to the same reasons you provide in this video and in your video about this theory itself, that the location of ditto is in the burned down mansion where there are files on mew and the whole cloning process, so again it seems very logical that ditto is a failed clone and pretty much is proto-mewtwo (heh, proto), they kept on trying to clone it but failed and just kept on releasing them in the basement till they could finally make Mewtwo. That is what I believe :).

It is a very good theory, but I believe that Ditto is a failed clone of Mew, which is why it is found in all areas related to Mewtwo. That would imply that Grimer is a mutation of a failed clone of Mew. Though it is possible, it is very unlikely that Ditto serves as an evolutionary bridge between Mew and Grimer.

My thought: yes, ditto and grimer share the same placed, but since team rocket were trying to make a mew, the scientists would have chemicals that could have been the sludge the poxedex says, and the chemicals could be other pokemon dna, for making the mew transform, but then it fcked up and blew the chemicals and the mansion, and somewhere around that time clefairy were worshipping the moon, and the moon transformed the chemicals, but maybe ditto is a different form of grimer, as more moonlight got on the ditto... ?

Eh... I'm not entirely convinced. As yeah, there are places that have Ditto but not Grimer... but are there places that have Grimer but not Ditto? Also, keep in mind, we are dealing with Grimer, Ditto and Koffing on three seperate timelines. The Classic, Modern and Mega time lines. With the discovery of Celebi shifting from Classic to Modern via a universal reformat. In the Classic Timeline it might be possible the explosion in Cinnabar's Lab might have gunked up the Ditto into a Grimer. With Muk being a more potent stronger amount of sludge. In the Modern Timeline, it may have very well been X-ray's bouncing off the moon that caused them to exist. As that is very similar to how Deoxys was created in the Modern Timeline. There is also a lot more weird radiation that isn't as understood in the Modern Timeline--as it is in the Mega Timeline. The only dex entries that really add the moon x-rays into the mix are ones after the creation of Deoxys. (Actually, I cannot double check on Gen II and Gen I--but I don't recall those in their entries) In the Mega Timeline, those weird radiation waves are better understood and followed. As they are an element involved with the existence of Mega Pokemon themselves. There is a chance that in the Mega Timeline, Grimer and Muk are an unfortunate side effect of creating the Mega Evolution process. Hence why they creation and origin are a bit more definite. Though... this does lead to the possibility... if Deoxys is the Modern Timeline's closest attempt at making something akin to the Mega Evolution? I mean, the ghost girl in X/Y is pretty much an element that is from the Modern Timeline version of X/Y as the Mega Timeline X/Y is VERY Mega orientated. What other weird mirrors are there? I mean, the mirrors with the Classic Timeline are mostly for continuity issues to allow Celebi to have an entry point in the Modern/Mega Timelines (for without those events, it won't make it so Celebi doesn't exist--but it would reduce normality levels making it HARDER for Celebi to visit... as to quote Homestuck, Celebi is already here).

IMO, the other Pokedex entries disprove this. Notice how definite these entries are--"Grimer emerged from..." "Born from..." "It was..."--there is no "probably" or "It is rumored..." or "...likely formed from..." In the Pokemon universe, if a Pokemon's origin is unknown or debatable, it would be included in the Pokedex. Sapphire: Grimer emerged from the sludge that settled on a polluted seabed. This Pokémon loves anything filthy. It constantly leaks a horribly germ- infested fluid from all over its body. Emerald: Born from polluted sludge in the sea, Grimer's favorite food is anything filthy. They feed on wastewater pumped out from factories. Diamond/Pearl/Platinum: It was born when sludge in a dirty stream was exposed to the moon's X-rays. It appears among filth. Black and White: It was born when sludge in a dirty stream was exposed to the moon's X-rays. It appears among filth.
