@@oopphh._. KZbin was created in 2005 it’s its own platform, google bought it in 2006. It didn’t create it. so if you want to be technical about it. you can absolutely hate google and still be on KZbin. Because KZbin is its own thing. was its own thing even before google took over.

I use ProtoMail as a private mail server and Gmail for stuff like logging in to youtube or creating burner logins for website I suspect could data mining or sharing Gmail address on the dark web.

I figured email was something my family uses every day to connect to all types of services, so it is worth paying for to me. I have been using Proton Mail for years now and have been very happy with it. I like the added security and that it is the focus of the company.

Can you address email account hijacking? I this video you covered the security of the emails themselves but how about account hijacking? Is my Gmail account as secure as my Protonmail account? Do either companies offer additional MFA methods to lock down and secure my accounts? After all, a random email being read by a bad guy is one thing but what about the bad guy who has control of my entire email account?

As far as I understand it, Proton Mail is only end to end encrypted if the recipient is using Proton Mail OR if you password protect the email you are sending to a non-Proton Mail recipient. Then you have the problem of letting the recipient know the password to unlock it 🙄 I know, why not send them and email 😂

At anytime, Google could make Gmail a paid service and that would suck if you don't want to pay and are unable to get your messages. You get what you pay for when it comes to Gmail vs Proton mail.

Giving up the integration of email with calendar and contacts is the stumbling block for me. I love that Gmail translates email concerts, itineraries, etc to my calendar!

I use proton cause i wanna move away from google and Microsoft as much as possible both of these companies just want your data so that they can sell it or use it.. All the data in google drive is encrypted but google retains the encryption keys which means they can access your data.

If you want just an privacy respecting email service and you are willing to pay for that, Tuta is cheaper and offers more. Also I find Tuta's UI a little bit nicer. If you don't want to pay, IMO Gmail is the best option.

I spend $26.42 per mo for gmail with our own domain name, I'm not able to turn off the prodictive text/wording, which makes compsing emails a nightmare. For $317.04 per year it would be nice if I can choose which options I want to use. Is Proton better for us? We have 2 email accounts with gmail. Thanks

Interesting, under the general settings there's a switch for ,,Writing suggestions off". Try that, it worked for me. Proton will have similar settings list, also before committing to subscription I'd suggest trying it out with a free trial.
