Tbh, proton has done a great job by improving all aspects of proton cars, as seen from this X50, I can say the quality provided is similar or maybe even better compared to the same range of SUV like HRV, but the price is cheaper. Proton has been surprising us since the launched of X70.. If I am about to choose, I will choose the flagship one. 😂😂

The only thing they didn't improve by much is the after sales service which are very important. Still here a lot of complain on their after sales service. Hope proton take notice on this problem and solve it fast because their future is bright but with current after sales service they are not gonna go any further.

Heard my mom booked the executive. After watching this I think the premium might be a better option but being the miser she is, I don't think she's find the 8k premium justifiable. Hope she goes for the ocean blue as I think the x50 looks good in that colour.

Here is what i hope Proton will do for the next release of Proton X50, i understand for the current release, Proton have been conservative on spec due they want to be price conscious and want a succesful launch. But looking at the pre book respond i think for the next release Proton can launch the PHEV version as sport version, with full paddle shifter, 7 colour interior ilumination light, ventilated seat, and remain the quad pipe. The sun can ne included or not include. This Sport PHEV version of X50 ( with 400nm of torque ) will be the top spec in Malaysia. Proton i hope u will launch this version soon. I am waiting to put my money on that version. 😁

China have economic of scale bro. The cost to make one will be much much cheaper as the parts from the vendors will be cheaper. Cost of labor also cheaper. Their currency also lower. Since they sell in higher numbers, Geely can afford to take smaller margin. Most important is that the tax imposed by the government for vehicles sold in Malaysia is high as it's a major revenue for the government. If U have a mindset of comparing car prices in China against Malaysia, just forget it. U will be disappointed. Just compare this model to its competitors in Malaysia, that is more relevent. Just accept the fact that car prices in Malaysia will be more expensive compare to other countries.

I think for local car the price very high cost to buy doesn't matter what standard or top spec the price over top spec over 100k I think to much proton not helping customers with low income to buy X50 specially top rang flagship big different from the standard model up25k .and this price until end of December 2020 then going add SST so customers going to pay more for this car up to 121k from next January 2021. .

Small matter. Can upgrade later with after market parts. Same with DVR recorder. What I'm more disappointed with the flagship variant is that they cut off 1. Paddle shifter 2. Ambient lighting 3. 3D 360 camera. These features are not upgradable but are available in the top spec Geely Coolray. But in return, we get rear aircond vents. So it's a worthy tradeoff I guess. If we get all the specs in Coolray + X50 + X70 in the flagship variant, then IMHO, X50 will become the ultimate mainstream segment B SUV.

Yeah, for this price compared to the Hondas Toyotas and other higher branded import one. This is absolutely good. But this is a Proton. Why is OUR CKD Proton X50 cheapest model even without SST is more expensive than the top of the range Geely Binyue in China? Truly disappointed with the price and predictable high cost of maintenance especially when the servicing schedule seem modified to show cheaper maintenance cost till 100k km.

Look at the price and spec, Premium seems to be the best choice. If Proton manages to provide good after sales service and make sure that spare parts are always stand by for the owners, RM110k (after no free tax) is still a very attractive offer. What make the car can be sold expensive, brand! At this moment, Proton is yet long way to go to build up the brand confidence to the consumers. I am in the midst to look for a car and do not wish to spend too much money, looking a car that less than RM120k. What make me do not go to showroom to have a look? Of course, covid 19 is one of the causes, I am following SOP strictly. The other reason is I heard that spare parts issue and third class of after sales services are still main problem. I have no choice but to look for other cars that may not the best choice as some of you may think but I have more confidence on them.

My dealer salesman says that I have to pay RM5000 for URBAN PACKAGES which consist of (i) Power Tail Gate (ii) Built-in Toll Reader (iii) Coil Mat (iv) Magnetic Sunshade (v) Tinting. Proton marketing should consider & take advantage of the well booking demands to reduce the prices to the maximum to enhance more competitve against it rivals & become the dorminant in the b-segment industry. One side argument. A car with a cheap price will be seen as cheap stuff if they just keep selling it cheap. Those who are buy this rarely fall in the category of "just needing a car but I have no money", most buyers fall into the category "my old car is old though functioning okay, but YOLO, time to upgrade~", it's an symbol of social status, anyone buying viva as an upgrade for social status? Economy crisis but if people are buying is kind of car in the name of economy crisis, does it make sense to you? More like car maker crisis. Penetrating the market and dominating the market vise, proton just need to redesign the outer and interior design of saga or the ugly thin but tall persona. Make one sporty and one classy and chic as possible for the looks. Maybe they don't even need those, they just need to throw in some standard perodua safety features and will be able to snatch one of piece of market already.

I love to watch car review channel very much . However I want to tell all automotive commentators to test the safety level, comfort level and cabin noise level of a car. In reality we are not road racer but we do enjoy racing test and extreme acceleration but extreme test drive is dangerous to the reviewers and other drivers might like to imitate the reviewer on the road. This can cause serious danger to other road users. We don't want to know how fast a car can reach 100 km/h or some other extreme test drive nonsense . I hope car reviewer can provide us data about safety, comfort and cabin noise. Dont teach the society how to drive recklessly.

Quite happy with the results of how the car turned out. But i am also pretty disappointed with their pricing. I believe they could have turned the pricing even lower but did not. I understand why they would not but the idea of "crushing it's competitors" does not really seem like its doing it. The price difference between the X50 and HRV is very small. Sure you get more features with the X50, but people tend to go for more "brandier" manufactures and with the X50's pricing i don't tell believe it's making a dent in the market. All around, its a great car so kudos to Proton.
