The Makita XBU03SM1 blower kit comes with a 4.0Ah battery and charger. This single-battery blower pushes 459 CFM and 116 MPH and we tested it to 11.3 Newtons.
That makes it the most powerful blower in its class. It's also the lightest at 6.2 pounds (with a 5.0Ah battery). It ran for 10 minutes, 25 seconds on high. Noise output is 63 decibels on low, 83 decibels on high. Makita added a new "cruise control" feature.

I use my Makita blower with an extension and nozzle in the winter for removing light snow from the car and driveway. At the highest speed the batteries last about 10 to 15 minutes. Works great and even blows away loose ice.

This review was JUST WHAT I WAS HOPING FOR,,,,🎉 Great job!!! You answered all of my questions. Glad to hear how this model compared to other ones you tested. That will save me time from looking at other reviews. I will come back to you again before my next power tool purchase. Thank you.

This came out right after I finally sprang for the X2 blower. Dang! Would have preferred this one.

I was wondering if this would be a good alternative to the x2. Doesn’t seem like there is that much of a power difference- probably a runtime differential

I just bought one very similar , i.e. looks the same but different model number ( DUB184ST ) kit with extra bonus 5 ah battery , I also bought the two extension nozzle pieces that were about $9 each , not included in the kit . Another plus , I have one those cheapy 6" pruning chainsaws that comes with 2 small capacity 18v batteries , the makita batteries also fit it perfectly .

Tractor Supply has the tool only (Makita 18 Volt Brushless Lithium Ion Blower, XBU03Z) for $49.99. Free ship to store. I don't know how much longer it will be on sale. I bought one, and I am thoroughly impressed. Today is Easter Sunday 2022.

@@FreakoBeatz843 At first, you could not pick the blower up at the store. You could have it shipped to the store for free which is what I did. I just looked at the TSC website and now, you have to use the website to find a store that has it and pick it up there. Amazon had it on sale a couple of days ago...but not now.

I'm a kitesurfer and need a high volume air pump to pump my kite up to 8psi, kite valves are about 3/4 inch in diameter so the force coming out of the tube would go from approximatly 2 inchs down to 3/4 inch which would increase the pressure... the kite valves are one way valves so air won't come out until undone... just wondering if you think this blower with an size reducer to make it work with a kite would be powerful enough to get to 8 psi ???

Don’t think you could find an adapter nozzle for that and even if you did I doubt it would be powerful enough to do that but I don’t know

The x2 is barely more powerful than the single battery model. I don't know the newtons but the CFMs and Mph is only slightly higher.

Power seems really good, but how's the run time with a single 5Ah 18v battery? Did you do any testing? I have a PILE of Makita 18v tools and would consider adding this blower for light cleanup work as long as it can last a while on low-medium speeds.

I saw a back to back test, and the 36 wasn't that much more powerful. Maybe a little more runtime, but way more expensive. I just carry some extra 5.0s with me,.. all good.

It won't - it will just run for longer. 4Ah vs 5Ah means you get 25% longer run time.

@@caseyfulton6644, not in all cases. Some tools do gain a little bit more power from larger Ah batteries. I don't know if this one does, but my drills certainly do.

It should work much better with the extension. The closer to the object you want to move, such as leaves, the more power you'll have to do it. I've been using the black colored Toro electric for years, and it works great. Not as good as gas machine obviously, but for $50.00 plus when I bought it plus a 100' cord, certainly a lot cheaper than gas. The cord though is a pain to deal with and I've been thinking of getting a batterie blower. Just not sure any are as good as the electric. But, I'm already into the Makita platform too.
