This is awesome. Would there ever be the possibility of Bob, just designing a really basic figure and showing us how he does it, like a screen recording? Would be so interesting.

That's a great idea. I'd be really interested to see how something like this is done, and TBH I've never understood why GW doesn't capitalise on this incredible creativity they have in their design department and do something like a behind-the-scenes just for marketing purposes. It'd be genuinely awesome if one day they just released some high profile miniature and then went "...and this is how we did it start to finish" in the style of all those sportclub documentaries where they follow a team for a season. Probably ridiculously expensive to produce, but it would be an awesome documentary.

Amazing episode, Bob is an incredible human, like the last time, just 10-15 minutes in and I love the man. I do want to take the chance to ask if it is possible to bring in Karl Kopinski, would love to hear him talk about his period on GW, in most of his interviews that period gets passed by because the interviewers don't know or care about that. Also Adrian Smith would be amazing.

I just realized that the Warhammer Retrospective articles they've been releasing this year also do not credit the original artists or sculptors. I don't think that's super relevant but I was trying to find a Catalog of Bobs work from games workshop and stumbled on it.

Bob "Mince-n-tatties" Naismith...❤👍. Bob's figures were the first 40k miniatures i ever saw, and they blew mecaway. My imagination ran wild, and i was hooked. I'm still an old metal mini fanatic. Thank you, Bob, for such a wonderful hobby. 40k has been a part of my life longer than it has not. 😊

Another excellent interview; that old marine was delightful to see, but I really love Bob’s explanation of all the engineering and tooling that goes into model creation. My grandfather was an “industrial arts” teacher, and had a lot of similar stories to tell.

As a 3D artist that pretty much lives in Zbrush, I love listening to Bob. I've always thought about getting a 3D printer and these chats with Bob push the 'thought' a little closer to reality. Excellent stuff as always chaps, hope you feel better Pat. Edit: Bob's analogy about different software being like a car where the steering wheel is located in different places, is spot on!

Such a great interview! I started playing Rogue Trader 40K with school friends as my first foray into tabletop gaming. So much nostalgia there for me. What a great insight into the design and manufacturing process from someone who was there from the beginning and now sculpts using 3D software. You should definitely get a 3D printer for the channel. I’ve just picked up my first one and I’m having a blast with it.

we need 75mm Skirmish minis again. GW was onto something with Inquisitor, they were just about 10 years too early. I remember thinking to myself, if they farmed that out to tamiya they could keep that going forever and Tamiya would have been very good at making highly customizable and poseable push fits at a fraction of the cost to the consumer; it would have been a solid product.

Much like what what Bob was saying with his range one of the things I love about Corespace (Battlesystems) is that the random NPCs in the game do get attacked by the AI faction, and can also interact with or join the player teams and become heroes in their own right. As far as barren sprues goes, Space Marine Scouts with sniper rifles is more white space than parts.
