I'm having trouble with the G chord the way you are showing it - my 5th string is muted by my 3rd finger - any advice to practice and hit it like that? By habit I do the G chord with the first 3 fingers and then hop down to the F chord.

why do you avoid bar chords??? everything i read/watch says you have to master bar chords?
