Stolas is in an arranged marriage he's generally not happy and his wife doesn't care much for there family other than there name title, if you pay attention she isn't upset that he is sleeping around, she only is upset cause he slept with an imp, imps are the lowest species in hell and they are royalty so she just feels embarrassed that he'd sleep with a peasant. Also if you looked in Octavia's room she has drawings on her and Stolas and none o her mother which means she is never around and the only one really in her life is her father. Also Stolas doesn't really sleep around it's just with Bilzto cause he actually really likes him, and they do hangout as friends and such when they can, he just can't help flirting with him when he is around.

I don’t blame him for being a sucky husband,he was probably put in an arranged marriage and didn’t want to,the only reason he is with his wife still is because he wants to stay with via,and since him and his wife have a bad relationship the only sexual stuff he can get to do is with blitzø since you know that blitzø has to,and his wife doesn’t care that he cheated,it’s that he did it with an imp(lowest of the low) and the fact that stolas is very lonely(he even talks about it on his insta)and the person he loves doesn’t love him back makes him feel more alone. Say what you will about Stolas' vices, he'd die for Octavia and that's really sweet. Also an interesting animation note at 10:52. Octavia and Stolas are owl demons. When Octavia turns around after insulting Loo Loo her eyes stay locked onto him and her head is stabilized as she turns the rest of her body around just like how real owls can. check out a video of owls locking onto prey for reference.

In the beginning, the song Stolas sings is so celestial because he is a demon of astronomy, which is really cool to see. The jester, Fizzarolli, is on the cereal box that Octavia is eating, and it, along with the themepark and even the freaking money, all have Mammon printed on them, who is a demon of greed, so appropriate. The signs in the background are hilarious, so keep an eye out for those. Like the Fizzarolli sex bot sign. Gives and receives, BDSM feature, ribbed for your pleasure, real tentacle action, 10 speed vibration, and machine washable. He ain't just for kids, that's for sure. Not sure if it was noticed, but Fizzarolli also rips off Charlie's lines from her song during his dance and song piece. The head that acts as the entrance to the funhouse is based off of Lucifer's face, so that's a cool reference and blatant copyright infringement by Loo Loo Land. Really surprising even Lucifer can't win a lawsuit against the owner (who seems to be Mammon). Somewhat hard to notice at first, but Fizzarolli also gets eaten by a dragon being ridden by Moxxie as Stolas and Octavia are leaving the park. And right at the end, Millie is getting dragged off by a fly dog creature that seems to be Hell's version of rats. It's the same animal that Valentino got as a pet (which he named Queef, and almost immediately killed, apparently) in the Official Hazbin and Helluva instagrams.

Stolas comforting Octavia really did signal that Stolas genuinely cared for his daughter more than himself, something he later lost sight of. This is reinforce in S2E1 and S2E2 when we see that Stolas only put up with an abusive relationship to try and make Octavia's childhood something resembling normal, but when he finally goes ahead with the divorce it takes up all his attention and he leaves Octavia hanging on the day she's been excited about for 10 years. God I love Stolas and Via's dynamic, because it shows how even a good father in a shitty situation can end up disconnecting from their kid.

I love that just when Via is falling asleep is when Stolas goes all out with the song, sings louder and the sun explodes. How she slept through that is beyond me. You Will Be Ok is a very sad, yet very hopeful song and paints a very clear picture of an owl demon unhappy with his marriage, yet hopeful for the future of his daughter, the one good thing to have come out of it 14:16 Not sure if you remember Charlie's song from Hazbin Hotel but...this bit has not only the same lyrics safe for the last line BUT even the same MELODY Blitzo is SO GOOD with guns he can make a sniper riffle shoot like an automatic machinegun! 19:15 This scene... It made me cry the first time I saw it. Not because I went through something similar but just the raw emotion on display.

I personally believe when she was little, Octavia wanted to be exactly like her father, her hero. She had a child's handdrawn picture of her and him together, without Stella in it. She had a telescope and a lot of things about outer space in her room such as books about Cosmology and Astronomy in her room and a star map. So when the family began to fall apart she felt betrayed by Stolas and became angry with him.

17:50 Millie is actually just better at melee weapons in general. In most fight scenes with her she uses knives or swords. Millie and Moxxie kind of balance each other out that way, since Moxxie is the opposite with being a sharpshooter with ranged weapons but being terrible with anything melee related.

Also some background lore here from twitter. Loo Loo Land is on the greed ring of hell. Only natives to hell can traverse the rings. The sinners and Lu Lu World are all on the pride ring and they can't really go anywhere. Hence why it's so crowded. IMPs headquarters is also on the Pride ring so Sinners can walk in like in the first episode. Mammon is the owner of Loo Loo Land. His name is on the sign of the park and if you pause at the contract Robo Fizzarolli holds up you get more mentions of him. So he's assumed to be the Overlord of Greed. There is a real Fizzarolli but the one we see is just as Blitz says. A robo rip off which is pretty fitting for a place centered on Greed. ( It's also why Robo Fizz rips off Charlie's song at one point )

The more I get into this the more I learn about Demons and their history. Stolas has been documented as "a Great Prince of Hell, commands twenty-six legions of demons. He teaches astronomy and is knowledgeable about herbs, plants, and precious stones. He is often depicted as a raven or a crowned owl with long legs. Alastor is another demon that will grant anything you desire but make you suffer and be his slave to punish you for your greed when you die. Viv did her research on these characters.

@@Luchrised another reason I like it because it doesn't treat it as a joke. Stolas, despite his flaws, he's a great father and has trouble explaining the issues to his daughter is very human. Octavia is very human as well. She acts rebellious to mask that she hates seeing her family fight and she is afraid her father will leave her. This episode really made Stolas and Octavia very likable.

The theory seems to be Stolas is in an arranged marriage the song arguably says this much with the line "I thought love would be fun" and how his wife acts she seems more pissed off about him sleeping with an Imp (considered the lowest of hells creatures) and him not acting his prestige hense her calling him a plebeian which means commoner and embarrassment and it seems Octavias relationship with her mother isn't very close you can tell by the contents of her nightmare, how when she shouts her mother can't be assed to get up and check on her and by the pictures on her wall not one has her mother in it besides the family portrait in their kitchen.

There actually are alot of Broadway actors in this. Octavia as you said, The robot Jester is the Actor from Beetlejuice from the broadway show and Stolas voice actor has been on Broadway aswell (dont remember the full name but the show was called a gentlemens guide of love and murder I think?)

This is my favorite Hellova episode so far! I love it so much! With Stolas and Octavia, then the freaky clown animatronic, and just the I.M.P.s running around being themselves, this was a masterpiece! (Not quite Hazbin master piece, but a masterpiece anyways!)

Aside from being a good dad, from what I've seen on the character's Instagram accounts, Stolas can actually be very caring and considerate to other characters. For example, Stolas apparently defends Angel from Val whenever he makes mean comments, he even offered to give Angel a ride back to the hotel after a long and hard day at work. At another point, Blitzo was kidnapped and Stolas reached out to the IMP and others who knew him to help search for him, even putting up missing person posters all around town to find him.

I fucking love this show xD . And I'd don't think I've ever gone from _"barely tolerating a character"_ to _"straight-up loving them"_ quite as fast as I did with Stolas here. He went from being a simple sex gag character to a fully fleshed-out and flawed father, and he went through that characterization in the span of _one damn episode._ Impressive, yo.

Just to say that it’s alluded to when stiles and octavia have there talk that there is a possibility that the marriage was contracted, I also noticed Stella isn’t upset that he cheated she upset it wasn’t discreet and that he did it with a low class citizen of hell, even in the first bit her daughter is crying and upset and she just wants to go to sleep and not deal with it. However this is just my observation

1.Very interesting thing to notice is that Stolas power rotate around some of his myths Stolas is a known Demon prince who granded humanity knowledge about Astrology(his univerae blowing feat) and herbalism(the various type of plants he holds around the palace) 2.Kinda makes me wonder how powerfull will Octavia be at his age..or what powers does she have. 3.I personally always loved Stolas he was so entertaining this episode did nothing but reinforce and solidify him as both best dad(take notes Lucifer) and increased his Charm 4.I dont think Stolas went that deep as to say when he will actually die as a lulaby to his daughter(it will kinda ruin the purpose of the song) i think it just means the universe can blow up he can die become nothing but a constalation(look up in the sky and you will be ok verse) and he WILL still be there for her

Hey. So you know, all the Hazbin and Helluva Boss characters have official, in character Instagram accounts, that tie in to the series and shorts as events in real time. Including Octavia and Stolas. Stolas is DaddyHootHoot, and, up until this episode, Octavia was GothChk37. I say up until, because after this ep, she changed the name of her account to Starfire... Her dad's pet name for her, as well as posted pics of her 'lovable dork of a dad', and the 'wierd taxidermy' they ended up buying ( it lives up to the name, too.) Seems like the strain on her relationship with her dad was ENTIRELY the fear of him abandoning her. When he reassured her that would never happen, the strain was relieved.

Robo Fizz is a step above animatronic, The "fiends" were your basic animatronics, Robo Fizz is a one of many Personal Companion, you can see the flyer on the tent when Blitz is falling There's a trailer out now that you can also see the poster in. Loo Loo Land Rips off Lucifer Magne (Charlie's dad)'s Lu Lu World, and RoboFizz hijacked a part of her broadcast speech/song and incorporated it into his "I have a dream, I wish to tell, about a magical..." - even similar movements and prop. As some have mentioned Alex Brightman is a recent Broadway talent for Beteljuice/ Beteljuice the musical and Barrett Wilbert Weed who you mentioned wanting to look up, You should see that she's (among other things) Veronica Sawyer in the Heathers the Musical You might have seen people's animatics on the Heathers, It seemed to blow up kinda like Hamiliton though not to that degree. If you listen to Stolas' lyrics, He actually talks to Octavia also, about how he tried to derive enjoyment from the marriage with Stella, "used to think love would be fun" and what not - Everything but Octavia at that point in their lives, was at a dead end for him, Blitzo changes that, but he wasn't involved at that point. oh and That is the grimoire, you can compare it to when Loona shows it off in the previous episode.

Stolas is such a fun, and surprisingly deep character. He's discovering his sexuality while being trapped in a loveless marriage with a... Very hostile wife. He doesn't mean to hurt anyone, least of all Octavia, but he can't help himself anymore. He's frustrated, lovestruck, and confused and his dialogue with Octavia is one of the most real conversations I've seen in animation.

Yay! Was wondering when you were gonna get around to reacting to this~ You're definitely right in it being a good ep for little bits of backstory for most of the characters. Also, since you didn't understand the apple theme of the park, it's because it's ripping off of Lucifer's own theme park. And Lucifer was the snake that tempted Eve w/ the apple in ye old biblical times, hence the theme. So apples are a running motif w/ Lucifer (& Charlie by extension).

Ever see "A Goofy Movie"? Remember that scene where Goofy tried to take his son to the amusement park, and it went poorly? Yeah. That's the same vibe I got from this episode. Stolas is a dad, desperate to reconnect with his daughter. He feels horribly guilty for his one-night stand with Blitz, but he really wants to be with him. Probably because the passion between him and his wife isn't there anymore, and he wants something new. Stolas is a very lustful demon, after all. Either way, Stolas may be the embodiment of lust, but he is a good dad. He didn't yell at anyone during the episode. Not at his wife, or daughter. He is very mild-mannered for the most part... unless you threaten his family, or he finds you appealing. Either way, his love for his daughter is beautiful, and it's clear that he would do anything to make her happy. Even if it means giving up on Blitz. Which he might very well do, now.
