I know I've said it before, but giving people your personal contacts just so they can vent to a friendly person and know someone is always in their corner, so cool! And it's the reason my wife Sarah and I make time on Monday and Wednesday for your live streams, I'm much too shy to reach out still... but knowing I can is a real breath of fresh air. I agree on this 100%! Typically, 5 days a week I wake up and get my beard ready and my overall appearance cleaned up for work. On my days off, I typically get everything done (gym, lawn care, store, wash car, etc.) prior to beard care. I’ll tell ya, I get so anxious about getting the beard taken care of as soon as I’m done with everything. After that, I feel complete.

Oddly enough... this is no different than when we watch workout videos, then you go and do the exercise yourself and see and feel the results. It's the magic and beauty of self-care, which is another way of saying love thyself. After a shower, you feel good and clean. Then when you brush your teeth, comb and style your hair, and then your beard, all of those feel-good tingles hit and you feel empowered and ready. It's kinda of an addiction, kind of work but it's all love. These videos also do that for me and for that Thank you @dancbearded

That’s really interesting, while I’ve always liked beards, I only started growing mine about six months ago, I’m now 65. I also have struggled with anxiety for as long as I can remember, with some especially difficult times in the last few years, so that may be why my intuition led me to growing it out now.

Love it Dan, not to sound weird I knew there had to be something to this. Sometimes when I brush I get that tingling ahh feeling. Not to be correcting but I am not sure if addiction is the right word. Tye clinical definition of “addiction” is “use in spite of harm.”
@DanCBearded
@DanCBearded 15 күн бұрын
There is absolutely a tingling feeling! Oh and I’m totally happy with the use of addiction there. There are healthy addictions and unhealthy addictions. “Addiction is when you have a strong physical or psychological need or urge to do something or use something.” “the fact or condition of being addicted to a particular substance, thing, or activity.” “a strong inclination to do, use, or indulge in something repeatedly” If we selectively choose definitions to not use a word, then almost all words would be in trouble. Context and intention matters, especially when definitions from sources such as Oxford and Merriam-Webster back it up the contextual use.
