Yes, the supertunias are over kill. One year I planted them this way. I planted a bubblegum Vista next to a paradise Vista. They got 5 feet across. The bubblegum eventually choked out the paradise. I now plant them 4 feet apart. They're gorgeous this year. I live in zone 6a in Pennsylvania

I've always grown petunias and boy was I educated a few years ago. I used to just pull the faded blooms but learned that you should trim your petunias about 1/4 of the way back and they will grow until frost. You can do a drastic cut back too it'll just take a couple weeks to get the plant looking full again. Also, fertilize every other week at a bare minimum

I am in Denton. I usually cut back any leggy supertunias and they will re-flush. I also make sure they are getting fertilizer on a regular basis and have them last all season. I love your garden so much! Good luck with your supertunias this year 💕

I will dig up plants in a heartbeat and it pays off. I’ve had no issues with them rooting and doing well. After the harsh Winter of 2020 here in Dallas, my Vista Bubblegum Supertunias came back in Spring. I was shocked. I bet you’ll get a nice resurgence in Fall. Give it a try!

Supertunias are an amazing plant. I purchased several for two containers. I was in the Birmingham area when they were planted. I had to relocate suddenly to Pensacola. They survived the trip. However, it rained the entire first month I was here. They don’t like wet feet. After that they flourished all the rest of the year. We had many nights of below freezing temps. I assumed, they had done their do so I didn’t attempt to protect them. This is their second year and look at them go. I am waiting for my new shipment at which time I will probably dig them up. What a wonderful plant!

I love Supertunia’s! The Vista series is my fave. They are my go-to for the garden beds in my front yard. They are big impact with very little maintenance, if any! And PW offers a large array of colors. Last year I did the Vista Snowdrift’s and they were so beautiful! White is such classic color and look in the garden. But this year I’m switching it up and doing the oh-so-popular Vista Bubblegums. I would recommend Supertunia’s to any new gardener. As long as you give them plenty of water, they keep pumping out blooms all the way through fall (for me atleast)

Love the cancan daffodils. Took your advice and transplanted some vincas that survived the winter to another spot in my garden. I, also, have some petunias that survived the winter that were growing in pots on my front porch. I did drag them inside when the temperatures got near freezing. Anything labeled Proven Winner is my go -to when shopping for plants.

Supertunias don’t do very well in zone 10a. I guess we have too much heat for them. I’ve bought them many times but I usually go with calibrachoa’s instead. They are more heat tolerant and do much better in my area. I love supertunias I just wish they were more heat tolerant. :0(

@@Rystical1 I do all that but the fact is they can’t take our heat and humidity seven days a week with no break. They turn into nothing more than bare branches and they can’t pull out of it. They are beautiful for about a month and then it’s all downhill from there. :0(
