Really like the dark green foliage of that double white azalea!

Me too, Mary! I hope it keeps that dark green color year-round, as it will be a nice background for other flowers in Summer and nice color during Winter! 🤞🙏💚

These are wonderful plants! What is that beautiful evergreen behind you! I just love it! Thanks for sharing your inspiration!

You're welcome Cynthia! 😊 That is a very large Sea Green Juniper! I planted it probably about 10 years ago. I didn't prune it this year -- ran out of time in Spring. But I do plan to prune it back once it's cooler out this Fall. I normally prune in Spring, but it's just a bit too large right now to see out into the backyard garden beds beyond it. I always leave the patio pruning for last...and it doesn't always happen! 😂

Love the "antique edging" of the blossom comment. Years ago, I ordered a rose that was described as "exceptionally fragrant." When it bloomed, I couldn't detect any fragrance at all. I complained to my wife, and she went out and sniffed it. To my surprise, she said it had a wonderful fragrance! To me, it was like putting a piece of cardboard under my nose. Then I searched on rose fragrance, and I found that the ability to detect rose fragrances is a personal thing. Roses that are fragrant to some people may not be fragrant to others. How interesting. Your KZbin channel is amazing. The detail you provide is much appreciated. Thank you!

I'm laughing at your rose-sniffing comment because I still couldn't detect any scent from this rose after trying multiple times last Fall, and really hope I do once it blooms again this year! I'm good at smelling scents in the garden -- good and bad 😂 -- so it was surprising to shove my nose into the rose and still...nothing. But fingers crossed -- it's a beautiful flower regardless! (Meanwhile my husband doesn't do well with anything strongly scented, so maybe it's a good thing if it is very subtle!) And thank you so much for your feedback on my KZbin channel -- I really appreciate it, as I put a ton of work into each video to make sure it's what I'd want to watch if I was looking for some gardening advice, etc. 🙂

Glad you enjoyed it! 😊 I love those side pull tabs! I think more online plant companies should use them, as it really makes it much easier to remove the plants! 👍🪴

I'm hitting the bookmarks tab for next season of all the new plants I want - I want them all! The azalea ground cover is at the top of my list. I'd love to start a rose garden too. I always think of Fonzie when I hear Perfecto Mundo 🙂

Glad I'm not the only one with a list of new plants I want! 😃 I take screenshots with my phone while surfing various websites or Instagram! Yes, that azalea ground cover may be a game changer! I think I'm adding that climbing rose I shared in the video, which means I need to buy an arbor for it too. Well, I don't "need" to buy one...but I want to! 😂

Beautiful plants! I've only ordered small plants from Proven Winners and White Flower Farm. Both do a nice job boxing. Those boxes were really cool! And don't get me started on Fedex. They lost two of my orders from Proven Winners in the spring and the nursery was out of all I had ordered. PW issued a refund right away. We're enjoying fall like days here in Georgia now so hopefully you'll get some cooler weather too. The high in Atlanta is supposed to be 75 on Friday! I'm enjoying lots of maintenance now :) Can't wait to see where you put your two beauties.

Thank you! ❤️ Totally agree about the excellent boxing of Proven Winners and also White Flower Farm. (My small-sized plants from White Flower Farm didn’t have one speck of dirt out of place.) I’m so sorry you lost two PW orders! ☹️ FedEx is the worst, and when they do actually deliver packages, they never read which side goes up or if the contents are fragile. They just toss them onto our front stoop. 🤬 On a happier note, your weather sounds perfect and I’m looking forward to the maintenance in my gardens too. We had two days of rain which was sorely needed this week. 💦🌈☀️

Congrats on getting trial plants! I’m in 6b and reblooming azaleas don’t do well here. I’ve had an Encore on life support for over a year now. It looks good after it lost all its leaves, but no blooms. My bunnies didn’t eat it, but the deer took a bite.

Thanks Will! It was a nice surprise! 🙂 I had Encore Azaleas too - pretty red ones - years ago. They just didn’t do well at all. Big disappointment, so never tried them again. So this new one better behave for me! The pressure is on. 🤣

@@GardenSanity I busted out laughing!!!! I love the plants! Perfectomundo would die frozen here in my zone 5 and the rose…… I’m done feeding those Japanese beetles! I trapped hundreds but they will risk their life for a rose any day!! 😂 how is your little lime punch doing? Mine turned green with a hint of color but nothing like they show in the pictures. I’ll call it the first year shock but it better show some punch color next year lol!

Mine os still very lime except for the parts that are crispy brown on some of them. Definitely from the multiple heat waves we got all Summer, the plant was definitely a bit stressed. Slight pink is starting to show but no Hawaiian punch color. Maybe still to come?

Hey, Laura! Both of those plants look like they’re going to be great! I’m anxious to see how they do for u. I have a question which may be kind of dumb, but I’m new to gardening so forgive me. When a tag says zone 8, for example, does it mean it encompasses the a and b of the indicated zone as well or no? Ty in advance for ur answer! 🥰
@GardenSanity
@GardenSanity 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Lori! I'm anxious too, especially as I haven't had the best luck with azaleas in the past, but this one sounds very promising! No dumb gardening questions ever! Remember: every single gardener in the world has wondered the same things at some point in their gardening journey. It's true! Yes, so in general if a plant is good in zone 8, it includes any "sub" zones like 8a or 8b. If you're in zone 8, and a plant/shrub/tree is hardy with zone 8 being it's upper-most zone -- just be aware that you may have to care for it a bit more than someone in zone 6 or 7. It's not always the case, but it's good to be aware of. For example in my newest video, I show a Little Lime Punch Hydrangea which is rated zones 3--8. Well, I'm in zone 7 and found that it needed probably a bit of shade at times and definitely more water than I expected this year. But it's part of learning, which we're all doing as we garden! I hope this helps! 😀❤
