I just had mine done at a 4x4 workshop. When I picked it up I was concerned because the supply hose went under the radiator hose, crimping it almost flat. I had another look at your video and I can see how you have it going above the radiator hose. I think I will go outside and change it to the way you have done it. I also share Paul Barry's concern about oil build up in lower sections of hose. I suppose I will need to periodically remove the hose and flush clean.

Thanks, forgot to mention that. The instructions show the supply hose going under the radiator hose but I rerouted it to go above for same reason.

I mounted mine next to the brake reservoir and the after market fuel filter on a bracket, the same side as the hose comes out of the engine without all the extra hose around the engine bay.

Nice vid.Mine was done similar by a workshop.The hoses on mine run behind the fan area, and if you look at your vid at 8.12,you will see a couple of threaded holes,middle of pic,a saddle for one hose was fitted there, then other hose cable tied to it as all well away from the fan.Then run down behind air box same as yours.Was concerned oil may log in trap of either hose, as they go down then up, but maybe enough flow so this doesnt happen?Some seem to run across rear of engine which keeps hoses up higher and they can drain either way,back to engine or can.

excellent video! - were you really doing this at midnight with a headtorch!? lol
@urbandecamp3 жыл бұрын
Haha, no, not at midnight but in an underground carpark where the lighting is pretty poor so yep, head torch to see when doing anything on the car!

Is it critical if the catch can is not 100% level when installed?

Thanks for the video, where did you use 16mm - 19mm elbow?
@urbandecamp4 жыл бұрын
The 16-19mm elbow wasn’t used. From memory it was for the older 200 series with a different size (bigger) bypass hose.
@urbandecamp4 жыл бұрын
I’ve just checked the installation instructions. It says “Please note there is an additional 19-16mm reducing elbow in the kit. If your vehicle is older your factory hose may not clamp down to the original size, the reducing elbow can be used here instead.”

I ask the dealer about it they reckon not to fit one to my new gx they might not warrant the motor

Why would you move the horn if installing catch can? Irrelevant
@urbandecamp3 жыл бұрын
Catch can bracket goes where the horn was mounted. Horn then mounts to the catch can bracket.
