Great plant. Indeed they are in the witch-hazel family.

Love fine Line. It would look amazing in my back flower bed that I can see from my kitchen window. Color in the fall and winter. Three along my fence line would be wonderful.

Laura, I want you to know that you inspired us! We went shopping for shrubs to add to our yard for additional color! Unfortunately we didn't find any of the bushes you suggested, but we love the ones we did find! Thanks for your suggestions!

Love these kinds of videos. Any plans to do more color specific ones like you did on blue? At the end of that video, you had talked about it. I'd love to see purple, pink, orange, etc.

Looking for a plant like the Fine Line Rhamnus. However, this variety at 5 - 7 foot is too tall. Are there medium height @ 4 feet tall varieties or other narrow, upright plants? Or, can the Fine Line Rhamnus be cut to keep it at 4 foot tall?
@ProvenWinnersYouTube2 жыл бұрын
You can trim Fine Line back each season to keep it at the height you prefer.

😂 I’ve had my “moments” with plants myself since becoming a “gardener.” Would love all these but the Fine Line Buckhorn I want can’t be shipped by PW in NY 😔 Such a pretty plant!
@ProvenWinnersYouTube Жыл бұрын
We hope you find it locally, but there might be other online sources too, and we now have an improved version of this nice shrub!
@MariMari-vq8hl Жыл бұрын
@@ProvenWinnersKZbin thank you for the update and I just assumed if PW couldn’t ship a plant- maybe it was due to possibly being “invasive” for that state. Will keep an eye out at my local nurseries 🙏🏼

I first saw this video late 2020. Because I was rehabbing some of my gardens, I was more than intrigued by the 'legnds of the fall bottlebrush bush. It fit all I was trying to accomplish. So I began my quest in spring 2021. Most nursery/garden centers never heard of them. I searched a 3 state area, no luck. Since Proven Winners is a large supplier in midwest, what are possibilities they are available spring 2022?
@ProvenWinnersYouTube3 жыл бұрын
The best thing to do is reach out to a local nursery to see if they will have this plant in stock next year. If not we will offer it in our online store. Please know that we do not decide what plants are available in the independent garden centers and nurseries, the owners of those businesses do. Hopefully expressing an interest will help.

Hi,Laura I have a moon garden but want to add some fall colors any suggestions for two containers either side of our door please?
@ProvenWinnersYouTube4 жыл бұрын
At this time of the year it is best to see what is available and decide from there, plants are getting hard to find at local garden centers everywhere!

I have deer and I find they eat nearly everything, even the plants that are supposedly deer resistant. I have to keep them sprayed with deer repellant, the only thing that actually works, until they get to a large enough size where deer browsing won't make any difference. I have cameras on the outside of my house and my deer do browse bottlebrush, which we call fothergilla.
@SMElder-od5cl4 жыл бұрын
I've never heard Fothergilla called "bottle brush" before.

So only one is a native variety? 😢
@ProvenWinnersYouTube11 ай бұрын
Our breeding program works to produce plants that no longer are invasive, or have thorns, etc...making the plant more desirable for gardeners with blooms that last longer and are larger...we do offer native shrubs, but you are correct, the entire line is not native. Thanks for watching!

Come to my house you’ll learn how deer can ravage gardens. I don’t dare plant azaleas even near the house as the deer will destroy them. I have to avoid many plants due to deer pressure. Rhododendron not up near the house they will take everything. My neighbors planted some small arborvitae and they stripped them bare.

We are sorry to hear of the struggle, deer damage can be brutal. Do investigate Plantskydd, it is a systemic spray that changes the taste of the plant, and was developed originally for the agricultural fields in Europe. It is systemic, meaning it changes the taste of the plant, not topical, which would wash off with rain. The spray is more effective than the granules...and can be found on Amazon if you do not see it at a garden center locally. www.plantskydd.com/
@MrStangdawg2 жыл бұрын
@@ProvenWinnersKZbin I just avoid plants that deer like and work around it. As an FYI, smokebush are another plant that if near the wood line will get eaten by deer. I would not rank them as deer resistant.....
