No matter how much we know and understand, we are to be open to learn more about God's will and ways. Apollos, in Acts 18:24-26, is a great model, particularly for Christian leaders. He was eloquent, and knowledgeable in the Scriptures, but he knew only of the baptism of John, so when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him aside and taught him more about God. Apollos could have been offended, but, instead, he was teachable. The result was that God used him even more, helping believers to grow and Jewish nonbelievers to see how the Scriptures point to Jesus as the Messiah (Acts 18:27-28). True humility is staying teachable, regardless of how much you already know. Thanks for the teaching, Dr. G.

there is a great difference with those who were babtize in the Holy Spirit than those who were taught by mere teachers especially those Grace teachers who preach the Scriptures thru mans understanding.

No matter how much we know and understand, we are to be open to learn more about God’s will and ways. Apollos is a great role model for Christian leaders. This was a man who was powerful in the Scriptures. He was learned, fervent, and accurately spoke and taught things about Jesus. Yet, in all this knowledge he knew only about John’s baptism. When Priscilla and Aquila heard him speak they took him home and explained the way of God to him more accurately. Considering his background he could have been offended, instead he humbled himself allowing himself to be taught by them. As believers, no matter how much we know and understand there is always more to know and understand. We must have teachable spirits. There is no end to our learning about Jesus, His Word, God, the Holy Spirit, while on earth. We must maintain a hunger and a thirst for the things of God and cultivate a teachable spirit, regardless of who is teaching us. (The assumption here is that they are teaching the uncompromised Word of God. That means we have to make every effort to know the Word for ourselves so we don’t fall into error. “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge [of My law, where I reveal My will].” Hosea 4:6a AMP) Be Encouraged! ❤
