Sainsmart ProverXL 4030 V2 shrsl.com/43un0 Some of the upgrades on this machine include ball screws, closed loop stepper motors (minimises loss of steps and can move faster), new improved Z assembly, eccentric nuts on the wheels, better bed and a few other bits like higher dust guards.

It looks like the Y axis sensors have been moved to the outside. Can you measure the real maximum effective work area (on the V1 it is quite a bit wider than the wooden bed, and extends further out the front)?
@JamesDeanDesigns
@JamesDeanDesigns Жыл бұрын
@@davidkiefer1748 yes, its covered in the video towards the end. Think it's 410x308. Because of the extra brackets on the ball screws you can't really gain much by moving the limit switches bracket any more

I'm a little bummed, I literally just bought a PROVerXL 4030 and now that I went to your videos to see how to get it setup properly I see that there is a V2 model. So now I'm debating on not building this thing and returning it for the V2 version. I do intend on making fairly precise parts for 3D printers and for modding PC's. Is the V2 worth the extra money and is it really more accurate than the V1? Great videos BTW! I'm an old maker that has always like building things and want something to help build the more intricate things :) Oh, and is there any plans showing how you built the awesome cabinets you have the CNC's in?

Hello James, and Happy New Year. 🎉🎉💐 We are grateful to you for what you provide on this wonderful channel. Thank you for this important information, the comprehensive explanation, and the beautiful way of presenting the information. 🤗🫡 I used my saismartGenmitsu 6060 CNC machine with the Light Burn program, so I added a laser head to it, but the directional movement changed, for example the right became left, and the forward movement became backward. I tried to adjust the settings, but to no avail. Thank you again for your help🙏

After watching this I decided to go ahead and buy one. Looks a really decent machine with plenty of scope to upgrade it. Linear rails for example, I can see why they didnt add them for cost, but looking at this we could easily machine our own parts to make mounts for them. For me what sold it was the ball screws, and closed loop steppers. Size wise its a really nice form factor too, not too big or small and I believe an extension kit is coming out soon. I'll likely add a Makita to mine tbh. Excited to get started on this, just waiting for the postie now :)

This is a great little machine James, and, I do enjoy your videos. I am having a little issue with mine. The gantry level, in the X Axis direction, is off by about 1 degree, from left to right. Most of my work is done with 3 mm & 6 mm wood. When I attempt to cut out a wood shape, the cut does not go completely thru on the right side. Likewise, when I am carving, there is a noticeable difference, in the cut depth, on the right side. Any advice on how to adjust / correct / fix? I find no advice / help in the assembly instructions that were provided.

Perfect tutorial. I finally decided to enter the CNC world myself with exactly this machine. I made some initial cuts and all looked great. Now getting into more detailed work and I just noticed a problem I can't explain. I use 3.175mm upcut Genmitsu bit (MC40A) and all my cuts are greater than expected by ~0.5mm. Design is 100% ok. If I for example just make a square 65x65mm, it is actually 65.5mm. I use poplar 7mm thick for all those cuts. Because I attempt a design where I plan to put several pieces together, the 0.5mm represents a problem for me. Any idea what should I check? Any suggestion appreciated as all this still very new to me. Thank you.

Thank you for this help James. We are planning one of these machines for the public library makerspace , but having checked the manufacturers site it doesn't appear that there is a 4th rotary axis that works with the PROVER 4030 V2 machine. I was wondering if anyone here knows if I can use a rotary axis on one of this V2?

Great video. I bought this machine but one of the motors went bad. Do you know the make/model of the closed loop motor or an alternative that I could buy to fix my machine? I have tried to contact the manufacturer but after all the struggles in contacting support and waiting endlessly, I am now looking to buy the motor from anywhere with more dependability. If it is a proprietary motor then I would have to rebuild the controller with new motors,drivers etc from scratch, which I am willing to do if that is the only way left. Hope to find the motor or alternative.

Hi, You have now tested both machines, which one would you recommend? Which is more stable and robust when milling plastic housings and 2mm aluminum? The 4030 V2 has ballscrew and better closed loop stepper motors. The 6050 Plus doesn't have that, but it has linear guides. Which machine do you think is more accurate? I don't care about the size of the design. It is important to have a reliable and stable milling machine. Thank you!

Hi James I was very impressed by your videos which i loved, that I purchased a 4030 V2 but I've sorry to say i have problem after problem firstly the X axis skews and i have recalibrate every thing secondly the limit switches are bending the striker plates, and the laser doesn't work which may be a different issue . the support is slow and lacking from SainSmart . I thought might be interested as other people have have problems with the limit switches as well
@JamesDeanDesigns
@JamesDeanDesigns Жыл бұрын
That's ok. Feedback helps others and Sainsmart. I've commented on a few of your posts in the Sainsmart group. I think the skewing steppers is either a faulty motor or wiring issue. The limit switch brackets bending is a slightly poor design given the strength of the motors. I never experienced it but I didn't hit the brackets hard enough. Hope you get the issues sorted

Hi Basil, noticed you left the Sainsmart group whilst people were trying to help you. Seems like you kept hitting the limit switches with some force. Would be useful to know how you kept doing that as perhaps a couple of tweaks in your setup may make it easier to work with

Actually ordered the Genmitsu Proverxl 4030 V2 on the last day of Prime Days for $1250 to my door. Not a bad deal, I thought. Then I got an immediate sense of buyer's remorse, mostly on account of Delrin rollers in extruded aluminum rails, and managed to cancel the order in time. Because of another one of your videos, I got caught up in the numbers game and purchased the FoxAlien Vasto 400 x 400:with the 10 watt optical laser bundle. They had a $200:discount code at the time, so $2099 to my door. Gained 4 inches in "Y", linear rails, larger ball screws and a more robust controller. On the down side, I lost the closed loop stepoer motors and spent another $850. Sure hope I made the right call.

@jamesgolden1955 so next I would say check all the connections, not only the connections themselves but the wires to each connector to make sure they are all secure. If still nothing, I would suggest getting a multimeter (or borrowing one) and checking if the wires are getting anything through them. The controlboard does have some fuses but if it gets to that then i would suggest reaching out to Sainsmart first. Sometimes they can get moody if you open the box without their permission

Wanting to get into CNCs and this machine looks to be perfect, but having never used a CNC machine should I take the plunge and go straight in for this, or should I start small like a prover 3018 v2? Cant help thinking if I went with the 3018 I would very quickly outgrow it, or be disappointed and disillusioned with the speed and quality of results.
