A great beginner CNC- Genmitsu 4040 Pro Max

Thanks again for your quick review, seems like a very nice and solid machine. Have recently tested a cnc myself from another brand which works great but has V-wheels on the axis, so having actual linair rails and bearings does have benefits over the V-wheels. Does make it more sturdy with less play. Did use Genmitsu bits though 😆. Will await your full review..

The rods and linear rails do keep it from having any slack. I used the Genmitsu engraving bit, Jenny for cutting

Thank you for your review. I'm looking at the Genmitsu Pro (before that Reno) but have learned that the Z-axis & Router upgrades are required. I better stop watching videos because my budget keeps increasing. 😂

The new Z axis makes this machine much more capable, it is worth the extra. I had the old 4040 pro and it wasn't this sturdy.

When you have time, please do a project from VCarve config to sender to project completion. I feel I am missing the feeds and speeds, bit selection, and getting the code to the CNC.

It takes some practice to get the speeds and feeds figured out. You can use the bit manufacturers feeds depending on the machine.

I use window machines. My CNC control machine is a Dell 7050 mini PC.

Just starting with CNC. I have a 4040 Pro Max on order. Believe Genmitsu said they ship next month. Will be using it to carve small/tiny wood pieces like scrolls and acanthus leaves designs for model ships. I've just started learning the free hobbyist version of Fusion360. Is there a software design program (other than Fusion360) that is easier for a beginner to learn/use to design pieces. You said in the video that I need another software (Mac laptop) to send the design to the 4040? Could you please suggest what I need? Thank you, Rob

I would look at Vectric. Fusion is tough

I have never had to use them. You have to consider that happy folks generally don’t post about it though… I still love their machines for the cost.
