I sit hear next to my father who does not have long to live, listening to Pastor Begg, explaining providence of God... even when I don't know, God knows. How comforting to know that God is in control and that all is under God's guidance.

Its not comforting when his providence has placed you in constant struggle since birth. Faith is alot to chew and swallow when every step forward results in two step backwards. It absolutely doesn’t make since whatsoever.

@@phoenixfireclusterbomb ur exactly describing providence.. every step forward results in step backward... Many things that no matter what we do we cannot control. Life and us are like a vapor here today and gone tomorrow. Only God is God.

Thank you, pastor Begg for defining the Providence of God, through this timely message. I am an online student of BSF (Bible Study Fellowship). I came across your teaching (providence of God) while searching for answers. Please pray for South Africa

Thine will be done Father ! Live in acceptance of what has already happened and in the acceptance, is Thine will be done and a relaxed state of mind, body and soul !

I was raised for my first seven years under deism and Christian Science. Providence is only reason I did not end up an ashiest.

Thank you for this teaching, it changed my life! I was struggling with conflict over warfare worldview vs providence and piety to the point I could move forward no more with God or my ministry; this set me free!

If we come to a fork in the road God does not predestinate US to go left or right but He has predestined what is on the left turn and what is on the right. One may be blessings and the other a curse. The word of God helps us to make the right choice for His glory but if we don't listen to the Word and deliberately and willfully make a choice against His WILL then we suffer loss. We may have a difficult road in freely following the right path but we will be rewarded. He predestined the two paths and not us.

I’ve served my country, was educated, even graduated with honors while in the military. I’ve served my parents in many ways even to the point of uprooting ourselves. Pushed through hard and difficult times in marriage. I’ve strived to raise my children in the ways of the Lord. Etc….. Yet, regardless of my efforts, “providence” has kept me from opportunities and the like to enjoy a life of success or convenience so many others who have done less and enjoy. I don’t even have the basic necessities most of the time. Whats the deal? Ya! Know, its absolutely beyond my understanding. You know, just a little bit of the big picture would be helpful. I just don’t get it! Drives me crazy. God stays silent. I don’t treat my own children that way. I help them in every way I possibly can and explain the cause and effects of there choices. Not to mention, the one person given to me to hold my hand through this catastrophe of life decides he wasn’t going to participate with helping his children. God says, it’s my will, its providence. What? I just don’t get it!

We don't have all the answers yet. Stay faithful and God will explain all in the end and he promises we will understand. I often think of those young girls kidnapped in Africa by dreadful men. I pray for them wherever they are today that they know God is still with them. I pray for their parents and their anguish of not knowing what is happening or imagining what is happening to them. Like Job sometimes things are happening which God allows which seems unthinkable to us. Keep your faith don't give up God will not give up on you. Sometimes even in God's providence we have lessons to learn.

Seems to me just because God's hand is in some things, it does not means that everything is meticulously pre-arranged and orchestrated by Him. I think God's love nature requires unscripted human agency and He is free to choose, within the bounds of His fixed nature, how, when, and where He imposes His will to give and receive love in and on His creation. The way I read the Scriptures, it looks to me that He performs more by dynamic improvisation than by predetermined composition.

Also, in the case of wars, God has already decided the result. Observing the Israelites from beginning to end, especially when they sinned and lost a war. To when they repented and completely demolished the same enemy. Recall Gideon going to fight with 10,000 men. God brings it down to 3000. Then takes them by the river and brings it down to 300 and they still won.

I thought it was pretty clear that God takes care of us in Hebrews when it says that he will chastise us. Or when Jesus says that God will prune us.

So is the only implication, things will work out well eventually?... It's the stuff in-between now and eternity that is problematic, surely...
@ronregnier21793 жыл бұрын
that was most certainly not implied in this message
@chrisreynolds51442 жыл бұрын
Sometimes it is hard to look forward but God gives us his promises that all will work out. When we look back we can see more clearly the way God has guided, how we had lessons to learn about ourselves and how we had lessons to learn how Holy God is and what great love and condescention to come to our rescue so that we can have fellowship now through the Holy Spirit and eventually face to face. No matter what happens real joy and fulfillment comes through our salvation and daily walk with God God bless you

Good sermon until he botched it and wimped out giving man a supposed freedom that God supposedly doesn't infringe on. He also confuses biblical concept accountability with the humanistic concept responsibility
