I’m starting to find ‘Just a friend’ less annoying and more…trivial. Chat does things Adrien can’t. Adrien doesn’t seem to have much of a love life outside from Chloe who he’s very not interested in. Maybe it’s because of his dad? Chat is always flirting with Ladybug but how does this tie in with Marinette? He doesn’t know Mari is Ladybug! But in The Evillustrator or however you spell it (it’s 11pm give me a break) he openly flirts with Marinette (e.g when he pulls her closer, saying she gets to be his ladybug for the night.) Is he calling her ‘Just a friend’ because A- He doesn)t exactly know the difference between just a friend and a crush, B- Daddy issues (Where he’s free from his dad as Chat) or C- Simply in denial, he knows those feelings are there but tries to deny them and convince himself she’s just a friend because of Ladybug.

All valid points. Adrien is quite naive so that doesn't help either. As Cat Noir, he feels more free and "can be himself." He's sorta "himself" when he's with Marinette too. I haven't really witnessed heartwarming moments with Nino. Nino feels more like a buddy, but with Marinette, it's like he holds a soft spot for her (as he should). Chances are, Adrien is unaware of his potential crush and summarizes his feelings as a "friend" as he's inexperienced with making them. I'm hoping to see character development where Adrien is slowly realizing Marinette is who he loves.
