Good video! according to prudence concept, assets would not be overstated. but in the balance sheet asset (debtors) are still of 10000 which means asset is overstated by 5000. writing the provision on the asset side of the balance sheet does not meet the requirement of produce concept? in 25:49 you mentioned that we will report extra 2000 in the next year profit and loss account. but this 2000 extra bad debts are an expense for the previous year and we are reporting now in the current year which is the violation of the Matching Principle? It means previously years estimated bad debts should have been 7000 instead of 5000. When we were preparing financial statements for the previous year we tried to follow prudence concept but in the next year when 2000 extra bad debts happened then Can I say that prudence concept applied in the previous year and even for the current year do. Similarly matching principle for the previous year and current year also do not work successfully because of our wrong prediction on the calculation of the provision for doubtful debts?? FINALLY I WOULD SAY THAT PRUDENCE CONCEPT AND MATCHING PRINCIPLES ARE ONLY WORK WHEN WE HAVE STRONG PREDICTION FOR THE FUTURE??? THANKS
