The big plastic faceplate with the knobs wont come out from the top even with the screw removed

Turns out it was because of the big plastic thing that switches from air from outside and and from inside, you have to pull the faceplate out and push the switch in

Double din. Radios are the best way to go with a Toyota Corolla. It gives it a very clean look not the regular blue to really use double din definitely

Would love a follow up for where and how to connect the light green parking brake wire on this same model year. It is required for most modern stereos.

If you want to legitimately hook it up, light green wire needs to go to the parking brake ground wire located in the center console. IF not, most brands (besides Pioneer and Alpine) can be just simply grounded.

Yes, this cheap Chinese radio doesn't have standard mounting locations, so you will really have to modify the bracket to make it work.

Hi PB, the new Metra mounting brackets you used do not have the 4 top and bottom fingers fitted on the original cage, that snap into the front grille assembly, do you find the radio and grille assembly are free of any vibration or rattles without them ? Also an you say if those Metra brackets are metal or plastic, was thinking of 3D printing some ?

some radios with more graphics display do this as a safety feature so you cant watch video/animated graphic while driving. There are also aftermarket E-brake line wiring bypass that you can purchase separately to avoid having to do this.

I have 2 issues. 1. The stereo won't come on automatically on ignition. I have to power it on manually. Can this be fixed? 2. The stereo doesn't seem to retain memory of any items. Once the car is powered down and back, it loses all settings including set time.

For this radio, yeah we had to do some pretty extensive adjustments to hold it in the bracket. Most standard double din fit fine, this radio was a bit of a pain.

If you don't have JBL, you will only need the Metra 70-1761. If you do have JBL, you will need to Axxess TYTO-01. You don't need both, only one or the other based on your factory audio system.

Hey man great video!! I would like to ask, I have a problem with an 05 Toyota Corolla. I have installed a double din kenwood stereo touchscreen. I think I’ve wired everything correctly but ran into some issues! 1. My key fob stopped working 2. In order to use internal lights I need to turn the ignition on (not all the way) in order to have internal lights on 3. The beep when I have the keys in the ignition doesn’t work anymore. I’ve tried looking for help any chance ore suggestions you can tell me or can anyone help?.

I get confused when you start matching the colors. After you’re done you’re left with light pink, brown and orange. Then you’re done wrapping and that light pink is out still but now you have a blue too and not the brown or orange. Can you plz explain

Are those three wires from the radio side? If so, check with the manufacture to see what those radio wires are. We didn't have a loop of a blue wire, just keep it in place.

This is a cheap Chinese no-name radio. Any regular branded radio will not require any bracket modification. Get a decent radio and you will be just fine.
