Yep, it kind of kills the whole point of it. It's a small perk for massively overspending on lodging while there. Given the demise of fastpass and a lot of the rest of it, this is at best bread crumbs. If you don't mind the flight, some of the foreign Disney parks don't get enough traffic in the morning to require such things, especially if you don't mind making use of the single rider lines. I had a year pass to Hong Kong Disneyland and I'd literally get sick of riding rides before things started to get busy as it's mostly locals that go there. (Yes, I realize that it's a long flight, but not really that much worse than from the west coast to FL for Disney World, and everything is in English, Mandarin and Cantonese including the jungle cruise ride)

Yeah, I will consider staying at the way over priced Disney hotels when they bring back the entire hour early entry. Until then, I will stay with my favorite hotel that I have been staying at since 1964. Thanks for the look into the empty park though!

It's just another cash grab the the Disney corporation to try and justify the ridiculous pricing at their hotels. I'd expect that Walt would be spinning in his grave if he knew how an increasing chunk of Americans are being outright priced out of the park.

You're videos are very informative and entertaining. And I can't tell you how many times Getaway Today has stepped up for us. Not only saving money but giving us a credit on our vacation account even though it wasn't their fault for what happened. Must start my comment with a statement. Get Away Today is really GREAT! They saved me so much money on our last trip to Disneyland, that I will now ONLY use them. And haven't stayed at a PARK hotel for...probably...TEN years! And I know how to get in early WITHOUT staying at one of the resort hotels. Yes, I do! It's very simple. You just need a little lumber, some rope, and a good counterbalance. Then you simply assemble a trebuchet with a bucket or scoop large enough for one or two people out on Harbor Boulevard. Should be a cinch. And if you take some confetti and noisemakers, you can say you're just throwing a party.

And it might as well not exist at all. Have you seen the prices on Disney hotels? You're better off going to Hong Kong Disneyland and then there's no point in early entry, as hardly any of the locals show up before noon.

Ok, so I’m going to be a little bit of a negative Nancy here. I’m feeling a bit gipped that only DL Resort hotel guests can get EE and that it’s only 30 min when we got so much more in the past. Now maybe that will change and they are just doing a “soft” opening of it until they get more staff on board and if so I can understand that but with many of the changes Disney and Chapek have implemented, I’m skeptical. Finger crossed though that it changes b/c those resort hotels are way too expensive for my pocket book. Sorry for going the negative route but man I’m just bummed. If you’re in DL for early entry but want to beat the 8 am rope drop crowd to an attraction in an area not open for early entry (Adventureland, for example) can you still access the land in that 7:30-8:00 window to beat the crowd? How? Thank you!

Last time I was there was Feb. 2020; got in early because of staying at a hotel, but spent most of it trying to get a boarding pass for Rise of the Resistance, which we did. Glad that's not a thing anymore, more or less. Thanks for the video! But we stayed at a neighbor hotel. Sad that the Disneyland Resort only qualifies.
