When deploying your application in Azure, spreading instances across regions or availability zones creates network latency, which may impact the overall performance of your application.
Placing VMs in a single region reduces the physical distance between the instances. Placing them within a single availability zone will also bring them physically closer together. However, as the Azure footprint grows, a single availability zone may span multiple physical data centers, which may result in a network latency impacting your application.

Hey, any chance we can get a video about Azure monitoring in general or Log Analytics workspaces? How you would integrate it with other monitoring software like SCOM or similar?

Still no word on nesting PPG, but it will probably happen right after nesting resource groups, or when pigs fly…which ever comes first

Thanks for the suggestion Carlos! Can you be more specific...DevOps is huge! We have done a DevOps Pipeline release as part of our ARM Template series...what else are you looking for?

@@AzureAcademy So I'm thinking deploying ARM template but testing everything first. Like the build pipeline you do a validation. Then it gets passed to the release pipeline deploys but you need the resource created to pass to the next stage. Ex. RG > AzSQL Server > AzSQL db > db tables, with setting security like contributor on rg and admin for AzSQL Server & users for db with their roles. I obviously have a detailed idea in mind that I'm working on right now. But its good to get different view points. After that I would do test plans against that resource. So you have the full suite.

got it...do you have a specific application or workload in mind for this? besides validation are you looking for anything else in Build? would you consider yourself an Infrastructure person or more of a Developer? Thanks!

@@AzureAcademy well in build would be useful to support nested templates. so copy files to blob storage. I'm more infrastructure but working on be more dev to help them improve their processes.
