Thanks for the comparison. The Proxxon blades are definitely more refined as I have most of them. However, you need to compare apple to apple, the cheap blade has more teeth than the comparing Proxxon so it tends to burn the wood more easily, as shown on your video. The other reason may be these cheap blades usually are not grounded precisely so the saw dust can't get away, causing the rough surface? I have also found some Makita/Milwaukee/Bosh blades are very precisely made, they usually come as 24 teeths only. They are thinner too, 1 mm kerf vs 1.7 mm of Proxxon. But you need a 15 to 10 mm adapter ring to fit. I use the cheap blades on the Proxxon drop saw when cutting rough materials, saving the fine blades for precision work.

Thanks for your comment, I agree with your views and would prefer an original Proxxon over the cheapest. But as an extra saw blade with a few millimeters extra height, it may be a good idea to have a few pieces in the drawer.

Looks like a wider kerf, if it cuts well, it could be a benefit ... specially box joints ! Blade look tall, what cutting height has it got?

Yes that was also what I had in mind but my immediate impression is that it saves worse than an original from Proxxon. For now, I will test it a bit more and see how the saw responds to a larger blade.

Unfortunately I do not know of a blade of that thickness but try to find someone who manufactures blades of the desired size maybe they can help.

The problem is that I do not know blade seller or constructor...
