Here is a fact. Go to any big store. Pick up 20 new high end 3k plus fenders. 20 high end. Gibson All of them will need to be set up.intonation. Fret work. Etc. All of them. Pick any priced. Prs all play rite. Intonation all good.

This is more personal to me, but what is cool is that once I finally can afford a private stock, I will get to go home and pick out my own woods. I grew up 45 mins from the factory so it means a trip home to visit family and also pick out the woods I want.

PRS just hit it out of the park when it comes to design. The Silver Sky Lunar Ice is one of the most beautiful guitars I've ever seen (yes I'm fully aware the body is a strat copy) but the finish and detailing is exquisite.

I own a PRS Custom 24 10 top in faded whale blue. Not a private stock, but it immediately became my top guitar out of 15 guitars, because not only is it absolutely beautiful, but it plays phenomenally. I can play for hours and hours and never get tired of it. In my opinion, PRS is by far the most innovative guitar company in the world. Craftsmanship and attention to detail is their specialty. You can use the hell out of the tremolo without it going out of tune at all. The pickups are phenomenal. Overall it has all the qualities of many of the top guitar companies combined and more

While I dont have private stock, i do have a few American made and SE models. These guitars are so well built. My ONLY complaint is sometimes the pickups arent always right for each guitar. Some of mine are stock pickups, but i have replaced where needed

Got a used SE Standard and everything about it feels and looks better than my Fender strat. Granted it's not a high end Fender but still... I can't wrap head around how they can make something feel and look so good for that price. My mind, body, and soul would probably explode if I ever got to play a private stock!

I consider myself to be an all-around type of guy when it comes to guitars, all guitars were equal to me (I, until this very day feel like a child the Christmas morning whenever I see a guitar no matter what brand) I swear... but THEN! enter PRS! man you've ruined other people's (brands) game, at least in my eyes. I've never heard of PRS until I lifted one of your guitars off a stand here in Cape Town South Africa, that was a week ago...(yes I know, I know,,,) learning about the company and the passion of Paul and his team, and their workmanship has been so inspiring. This video captured the passion of each guitar maker, it's made me literally emotional... my son study and work very hard to become an excellent guitarist, my job will be to look for the best guitar at any price .... that's the dream... I had a killer idea for a guitar. I know I’ll never be able to afford a real prs but anyway here go. A Paul’s guitar with the 5 way “rotary” switch with the fret markers a shrunken down version of each of the dragons as fret board markers. Probably too ridiculous but just a dream guitar i had. I was lucky enough to snag up a 2003 Custom 22 Artist in Blue Matteo from a collector who was liquidating his collection. I got it for a STEAL!! It was basically brand new, still had the factory strings on it. It is the single most inspiring and magnificent guitar I have ever held in my hands. I can only imagine how these Private Stock guitars play and feel! Maybe some day........

I got silver sky this year, and it had a gap on the neck joint pocket. PRS customer service representative told me it is normal... I guess it is normal for them to have the gap between the neck joint because it is PRS...

I would not have a PRS guitar if it were given to me free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They suck so bad in my opinion that I have stopped taking them into my shop for repairs and setups. I dont want to come off as a snob or cheapskate, but i really only have one tiny gripe with PRS. Dont get me wrong, I am a MASSIVE PRS addict and have been ever since I saw Pete Loeffler of Chevelle and Ben Burnley of Breaking Benjamin using PRS Baritones. For me, my sweet-spot/favorite scale is 27". With the tunings I use, while I may not tune lower than G, I like to hover around the Drop A to Drop A# area. The big problem with tuning that low is that you have to use such thick gauges t have proper tension that low that it adds a ton of bass to your tone. With a longer scale, i can continue using thin gauge strings and maintaining the instruments musicality, and the fret spacing is more comfortable too. thats what breaks my heart though. PRS guitars are the Apex guitar manufacturer IMO but because I tune super low, the short 25" scale on all PRS core models forces me to use super thick gauge strings. I love PRS guitars so much but i never get to buy any of them because of the scale issue. I just wish that ... say the only specs i requested is a production quality USA Custom 24 Floyd just with a 27" scale being the only change, I just wish I didnt have to come up with $9500 at a minimum for that. Please, im begging you to do a limited run of a 27" scale USA Custom 24 baritone. I could finally have my dreams come true for $4500 instead of $9500

I own a Private Stock Guitar that I custom ordered for me. Tiger Eye with matching headstock and Gold Floyd Rose. I love playing it but, it was an almost unplayable guitar. First, it will break a string at the Floyd within two sets of a show. Mainly the A or D string. Second I could never figure out why it would not stay in tune. I took the locks off the nut to find that apparently during set up, the locking nut was filed for string height on the nut. Any luthier knows that string height has to be adjusted by taking wood away or adding a shim. NOT FILE THE TOP OF THE NUT where the string rides and locks!! If this was a cheaper version like the 1000 or Special Floyd I would agree that the metal (zinc) was soft and created indentions where the strings are but this is an $8,000.00 guitar that is supposed to have a Pro made in Germany Floyd. (i own 5 80's Kramers all with Floyds, never an issue) I called PRS and they said there was nothing they could do since it was during Covid. I asked them if they could just replace the Floyd for me. I was told, "You can find them at any guitar shop". I ordered the correct nut and installed it myself. I hope that someone from PRS reads this. It is the most Beautiful Guitar I have ever owned! I only play it out maybe 4 or 5 times a year at bigger venues. I love to show it off and love the compliments. Plus, it was made for ME!

just want to say, had a guy come in to record, his guitar, was not up to par, had a floyd on it, put my CE24 in his hands, he gave me the "really a PRS, and one with no Floyd" well a few dive bomb and hard pull ups and it was still in tune, he did the classic, F%$&*#^&#$&*ck, now I have to buy a PRS!, have another friend who would never touch my PRS for that exact reason, my Goldtop Custom 22 is my desert island gutar

PRS is the company that took genuine repeatable quality and integrity in guitar making to a mass market level. The only company that had come close to achieving that goal previously was Hamer, which delivered equal quality, fit, and finish, but Hamer was always more about building some classic inspired models as well as could be done without being very innovative and creative. Nonetheless, I would compare a USA Hamer to any USA PRS in terms of build quality. No doubt. Both are superb.

'If you don't make the neck right, the note will die'. Ditto. My local store is well stocked with low- and high-end PRS guitars and they are very consistent across the board; the necks are supremely made. Another maker whose necks are consistently impeccable is Tom Anderson (plus the truly boutique small shops). Neck workmanship is what separates the best from the rest.

They love what they do and we love what they do. I dreamed of owning a Private Stock guitar for 2 decades and I now have the privilege of owning one. I came across one of those scenarios that I have pipe dreams about. A coworker was needing cash quick and the most valuable thing he owned was a PRS Private Stock acoustic. I said sure, I will take a look at it. It was the Alex Lifeson model. I was stunned. I ended up with it for an amount that was almost criminal. I believe he paid somewhere near $10k and I got it for....much less. But hell, he needed it and I didn't want it, but when the price got so low that I couldn't say no. It's something special for sure.

I didn't get a private stock guitar but got a new se from chicago music exchange/few years back. Paint was smeared, Even light use of tremelo the guitar would go out of tune. Liked the clean tones, but overdrive was weak..Sent it back.
