First album I ever heard when I was about 10. Almost 25 years later, this man is still my favourite. Saw him last night and I'd sell my soul to hear him play any of these songs.

Bob Enos on the MONSTER trumpet solo! God love him. Rest In Peace brother. No one does it better. Though many have tried. Enos was The Guy.

Bring it on home, Man, bring it home . . . . Yeah, that's the real thing, the sort of thing we always need -- a leader/singer/soloist who knows how to really rock 'n ride a horn section. Two horn solos in Cadillac Baby and then his solo, just pumped on the jump blues. The horns all riffing and everyone high on the swing of it all. Too good -- that's uniquely American culture, some of the guts of life pulsing to music and resetting everybody's circuit breakers.

Got 'Colin James and the Little Big Band II' CD some years back. This guy is a North American killer rock hero. Thanks again Canada. Check out Jump from Six to Six and Rocket to the Moon. Tight lead guitarist and punchy vocals with a little vocal raspiness - just right for the blues/rock sound. Should be up there with the greats.

I was always a little sorry for Col about this "teased hair" period. His label sure couldn't complain that their artist was hard to work with - he'd do any damn thing they asked down to being made to look like a poodle. I've always felt this period of two albums with these horns ( the Room Full of Blues horn section ) have been his strongest efforts to date.
