Usually for six months. However, make sure to look at the actual expiry date on your own PRTD.

My wife is a permanent resident of Canada but does not have a PR card, only proof of permanent residency (letter of confirmation). I am a Canadian citizen. We booked a flight for her to go to the UK next week for four days only. This will not be enough time for her to receive a PRTD. Will she be able to board her flight without PRTD, bearing in mind that she will only be in the UK for four days and that it is unrealistic for the PRTD to be processed within such a short timeframe? Any comments would be greatly welcomed.
