My wife’s COPR was expired 1 year ago. She could not able to travel canada due pregnancy. After multiple webforms we got reply after 8 months that application is closed. Then we applied new sponsorship application. While sponsorship application in progress can my wife and dependent child apply TRV ?

Thanks for sharing this useful information. Everything is fine but the problem comes while departing from india. It is very hard to explain them the whole situation and i don't blame them because this whole process is poorely managed by IRCC.

Hi Dhruv ! Please reply to comment. My situation is different. Two weeks after submitting the photo and in canada declaration I got the refual of work permit extension reason(expired LMIA). I was asked to restore my status within 3 months.It has been 2 months and still waiting for the ECOPR . I will have to leave the country in a month since I will not be able to restore my status. Will this affect the PR which is still in progress. And why is my ECOPR getting so late? If I leave the country will I still get the ECOPR?

They said two email first one for portal creation and i uploaded my canadian address and photo and its in review from last week . What does the law say about landing outside of Canada? Isn't that a problem when verifying presence for citizenship? How can you be "landed" in a country when you're not even in the country?

Hello I am a Canada work permit holder. At the end of July 2023, I applied for PR. I received the PR portal on February 5, 2024, but as of now, I haven't received the COPR. However, I have to leave Canada for two weeks at the end of April. If: I receive the COPR before leaving Canada for Hong Kong but haven't received the actual PR card, and don't have enough time to apply for a PRTD. I receive the COPR/PR confirmation while in Hong Kong. In both of these scenarios, how should I re-enter Canada? Thank you

Hey My Application for Permanent Residency in Canada was approved and I received my passport back from VO with Visa stamped Along COPR but unfortunately due to misunderstanding and lack of knowledge i laminated the COPR. I didn’t realize i have to do signatures on it at port of entry hence laminating copr makes it invalid. I tried to contact my VO many times to reissue Copr by sending webforms and directly sending emails to them but they are not responding. I came to know that at Port of entry CBSA officers can also print copr if needed. What should i do now? Should i use my one time immigrant visa and fly to Canada and ask to the officer at Port of entry to print new copr or should i wait for the response from my VO Appropriate advice will be highly appreciated

stay outside canada until you receive ecopr and then apply for PRTD and come to canada without issues or get your passport stamped( get TRV ) before leaving canada

The government states: "We do not issue temporary resident visas (TRV) to permanent residents (PR). If you are outside Canada without a valid PR card, you must apply for a permanent resident travel document (PRTD) instead. If you meet the requirements for a PRTD, you can return to Canada as a PR."

Dear. You forgot to talk about a VERY IMPORTANT issue. When the eCopr issued while someone is abroad. It will state the PR granted date same as eCopr issuance. Later down the road for PR renewal or citizenship application, you need to mention : date of becoming a PR and dates of being out of Canada…. This will create a conflict and the system will not allow you to proceed. Entering any wrong information is considered misrepresentation.

I see no reason why it will create a conflict ? One can get his ecopr while outside canada.IRCC just needs you to complete a certain time period in Canada as a PR before you apply for citizenship. If you become a PR outside canada then that time won't be counted towards citizenship hence you gotta spend little bit more time in canada as a PR to compensate that.

There is an official website for duration calculations where you need to enter all details and the use its output for citizenship application. You have to enter the date u became PR And you have to enter the times u spent outside Canada. Here it will give u an error and cant continue. Unless u change your PR status start to the date you first enter after getting the eCopr. If thats not to be considered a misrepresentation, then it should be fine.

@@kalindidesilva if you already received your PPR then you supposed to be get your COPR with passport stamping. if you are outside canada, you have to submit your passport to the IRCC visa office and while stamping they are the one who will issue you COPR and it will only be valid when you come to any canadian port of entry and after IRCC officer sign your COPR
