The best time to prune most deciduous shrubs is in the late winter/early Spring, before they leaf out, especially with Roses, Panicle Hydrangeas and Smooth Hydrangeas that bloom on new wood. The best prune time is between the Crocus blooming and Forsythia blooming times. By these times the harshest portion of Winter has past, and transient weather will dominate until Summer🌿
