Ah man, did yours melt? Sorry to hear that. It's more evidence that the part design/fit is just poor and way too tight. The good news is that that piece is really superficial and not needed to get your printer up and running. You can easily print a new one and installing it after finishing assembly isn't terrible. You could probably get by with never installing it and you'd be fine.
