Did you know that Stray Kids are releasing a new album on November 10th? It is called Rock-Star. The video announcement for the album is heavily rock sounding with lots of beautiful electric guitar. Because of that, Stays were speculating that it is actually going to have some rock songs on it. The song list has been released and it looks like Stays are going to be right.

@@PrymalChaos There is a behind the scenes for this video (they make them for most of their vidoes). It gives little insights into each scene, and demonstrates how a lot of their video is done practically rather than using CGI, for example all of the pyrotechnics in S-Class were real, as was the floating rig and the car. They'll have huge physical sets for 15 seconds of video, there's very little in the way of greenscreen. It's really interesting to watch. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fGTPkHahaqZ0l5I

They have Behind the Scenes content on every MV they release. They are interesting combinations of the members goofing off, working hard, talking about what the set is like, and some details about the shooting. They also these days usually have a behind the scenes on the vocal recording sessions, you get to see the 3 production members (Chan, Changbin and Han) running the recording sessions and directing the vocals. Really fun. There are also several fan edits of clips of Chan playing around with beat production on air during some of his live streams (he's not allowed to do that anymore, but the old ones are still floating around). If you want to spend a lot of time laughing, you could also look up the videos on them producing the (totally for fun, never meant to be serious) song "I Can't Live Without Changbin"--Chan had Changbin on his live, said "Why don't we make a song?", Changbin said, "Sure, but it has to be about how no one can live without me, I'm so special" Chan's like "For real? You're going to make me do this? Well, ok" and they made the song, meaning to put it together and then delete it immediately, and then a few weeks later Han joined them and put his bits in, and the fan-made edits of this process are hilarious. There's a part one and part two, since those happened on two different days. Part 2 is funnier, but you kind of need to see a little from part 1 to understand it. But what's best about these edits (aside from the fact that you end up laughing hard enough to cure all ills) is that it shows how they just put together music all the time as part of their everyday existence, that its fun for them--they take it seriously as their profession, but it is also humorous, silly, and enjoyable for them. And that comes through in the music as well, they just put in so much that is fun and delightful to listen to, surprises and little musical jokes, and that comes out of their process.
@KyrjaSigewif Жыл бұрын
How come Chan is not "allowed" to produce live anymore? Why?
@jadefrog Жыл бұрын
@KyrjaSigewif There is tons of discussion on this. All we know for sure is that he suddenly stopped making his weekly lives, and later told a fan during a fanmeet that the company wouldn't let him do it anymore. Most likely it is because he was being misquoted left and right. Chan was always super careful to say things like "This is just how I feel, no hate intended....". But toxic fans won't listen to that, and folks who intentionally want to cause harm, will edit and misquote him until they can make it sound as though he said something really nasty, then that goes viral and he gets blamed for something he never actually said or did. The most likely final straw for the company was when he said something about how some of the younger groups didn't greet him during awards shows. This is a very Korean thing, it is good manners to always bow and greet your seniors every time you see them. He said very clearly, "no hate, they can do what they want, but I always greet seniors, it feels like good manners to me". (That's not a direct or accurate quote, just the gist of what he said). This was edited and misquoted to the point where folks were saying he was a nasty person, and then on the other side certain toxic fans decided it was one particular group he was referring to, and started sending that group a lot of hate to a really extreme level, even after he publicly said that wasn't the group he was talking about. So I would guess the company said this is out of control, no matter how careful he is or nice he tries to be, there are folks who just want any excuse to cause harm and hurt, so we won't give them the opportunity to blame Chan for their harm, by not letting him do the lives anymore. Sad, but I understand the reasoning. Plus, he's soooo busy these days, it's probably best for his health to do less.

Hmm, I am actually totally social-media challenged and have no idea how to do that. I'm in my 50's, so I tend to prefer a slower pace and am not so good with things like Instagram and various ways to connect. But there is a ton ton ton of Stay content out there and many many Stays who have very active Instagram or whatever accounts, and some of the channels really encourage discussion between Stays. The Stray Kids fandom can often feel very supportive and close, and I have seen exactly the type of thing that you are looking for several times on my feed, I don't often click on them since I'm self employed and spend a lot of time working. But I know there are many who feel as you do, and that if you keep supporting Stray Kids and liking and commenting and watching Skz content, then a lot of those channels will show up, and you'll quickly find many friends who love Stray Kids and want to talk about it. Many of the fan made compilation videos come from channels that also encourage interaction and discussion, so try some of those.

For additional appreciation😊 - Most kpop groups are put together by the label, but what's unique about Stray Kids is that the leader Bang Chan was a trainee at the label for 7 years and they decided to let him put together his own group, so he hand-picked each individual member that you see today based on their individual talents. - Many kpop groups release music that is produced by the label, but Stray Kids produce their own music. They do the writing, the composing, most of the arrangement, and they are the ones doing the mixing in the studio. It's one of the main reasons why Stray Kids sounds so unique and not very "KPop-y", because they have the freedom to create whatever music they want. They have a lot of songs about how their "sound" may be different, but they won't change who they are! - Stray kids have been around for a little over 5 years now, and yet they have released over 230 songs on Spotify, over 100 MVs on KZbin, and still manage to keep up with posting on average 3-4 KZbin videos a week with additional content for their fans. I always try to encourage people to look further into the group because there is so much more behind the amazing music. Truly incredible and unlike any other musical artist I've ever known!😊 Songs you may like more in my opinion: - The Sound - God's Menu - Back Door - Side Effects (personal favorite, VERY cool concept) - Charmer - Miroh - Red Lights

I’m not sure paint by numbers is the right way to describe Stray Kids music, since the only thing that is predictable about Stray Kids music is that it will be unpredictable in some way. They have kind of built their reputation on that, and on incorporating untraditional sounds into their music. The breaking glass, the squeaky door, the drill, the sound of birds chirping. Most people don’t expect sounds like that to be woven into a song. But that’s why their sound has been called “noise music” and why some people don’t like it. For me, I find it to be refreshingly unique.

This is what got me into and made me finally get Kpop. It's not a 'music genre' like Hophop or Pop or R&B it's a way of making music. If you like music there likely is a Kpop group/sound for you out there. And Kpop I feel just has this curiosity to try new things. To make music that's almost unrestricted by established genre boundaries. Like 'S-Class' here is almost an assault to your expectations of how a song is structured... but it WORKS! I love this and am diving into this new musical world with such joy 😊😊 A group to look into if you enjoy this type of genre breaking is 'Shinee': they are an almost 'old school 2nd gen (so 2000s founded)' group who is known for having fun experimenting with traditions. Listening into Shinee - 'Hard' or 'Don't Call me' as their newer tracks would I think be interesting to you 🙂👍 Thnx for the reaction

I really enjoyed your reaction. Another Steay Kids video you'd probably enjoy is Thunderous. The song is full of attitude and the video is incredible. God's Menu is fantastic, too. You really can't go wrong with Stray Kids. Ateez (pronounced like eighties with heavy emphasis on the A) is another Kpop group you should check out. Fantastic musicand incredible viseos, and they have a terrific storyline.

Stray Kids is under JYP Entertainment. Stray Kids was formed through a reality show called 'Stray Kids'. They debuted in 2018. The group is currently composed of 8 members : Bang Chan (Leader), Changbin, Lee Know, Han Jisung, Felix, Hyunjin, I.N (Maknae) and Seungmin. Woojin left the group. Stray Kids is currently composed of 8 members. One of their sub-units called "3RACHA" (Composed of 3 members : Bang Chan, Changbin and Han Jisung) produces songs for the group. Stray Kids has 3 sub-units : 1. 3RACHA (Composed of 3 members : Bang Chan (Leader), Han Jisung and Changbin) 2. DANCERACHA/DANCE RACHA (Composed of 3 members : Hyunjin, Lee Know (Leader) and Felix) 3. VOCALRACHA/VOCAL RACHA (Composed of 2 members : Seungmin and I.N) My recommendations : "♡ THE ULTIMATE 2023 GUIDE TO STRAY KIDS ♡ *turn on CCs*" by TeaNoSuga Reacts "The Rise of STRAY KIDS - JYP Entertainment's REAL Secret Weapon (Deep Dive)" by Jonathan Miller Music

I found K-pop in 2018 with BTS and then Stray kids in 2020. My daughter and I had a conversation a little while ago about your points at the end of the video and how when I listen to western music these days, it just doesn’t hold my attention. It’s always amazed me how so many different styles of music can fit together and work so well. This is my first time on your channel so I don’t know your catalog but if you haven’t listened to “hard” by Shinee, it’s another perfect example of what you were discussing. Musical chaos perfected.

I'm a fan of so many types of music, rock has always been my go to though, so that's why I fell in love with SKZ as they are very edgy compared to some groups (they were here in Aus back in February, two concerts in Melbourne and two in Sydney), I was fortunate to see them live in Melbourne in February. I'm sure someone has already mentioned two of the members are Aussies, Bang Chan and Felix. 😅 Also perhaps if you get time try reacting to ATEEZ, they are pretty edgy also and debuted the same year as SKZ.

I don't know if you know, but they (Stray Kids) have some "Making of [insert name of song] MV". They give you glimpses behind their mv makings. Yeah, Skz (Stray Kids) are great for people with ADHD like me. lol

I love your insights thanks, I hope it won't be so long this time until the next SKZ reaction. I recommend God's Menu next, it's the song that really put them on the map so to speak and really shows their "mala flavour" and uniqueness that we love. And the MV is fire of course!

If you love SKZ and edgier music I HIGHLY recommend ATEEZ!!! Both groups have been known to have a similar kind of 'punch you in the face' music and many of the members are actually friends on and off camera! They're well known for their incredible live performances, member input on their songs, stunning music videos, great b-side tracks, and a strong impact on first listen to their songs. I've been a big fan of both groups since their debuts and have tons of recommendations for each! Some to start you off for ATEEZ would be Guerrilla, Halazia, Bouncy (their most recent comeback), HALA HALA and The Real!
